Forest Technician – Elkins, West Virginia
Our Elkins, WV forestry team seeks a highly motivated, Full Time Forestry Technician to join our progressive,
growing team. The ideal candidate will reside near one of these five (5) West Virginia communities: Elkins,
Buckhannon. Weston, Flatwoods, or Summersville. A two-year or four-year degree in Forestry or closely related
field is required, or applicants must have 2+ years of practical field forestry/timber procurement experience.
Interviewing/ Hiring timeline: Open
Principal Duties Include:
 Timber inventory (cruising)
 Timber sale preparation (timber marking)
 Forest data collection, including GPS and photographic information
 Other duties related to forest management for our long-term clients
Principal Requirements include:
 An Associate's (or higher) degree in Forestry, Forest Technology, or Environmental Biology, or 2 years
minimum of practical field forestry experience is required.
 Individuals with a B.S. degree in Forest Science/Forest Management, Natural Resources, or Environmental
Sciences are strongly encouraged to apply.
 Must be competent in tree species identification, and with forest mensuration techniques, including point
sampling, plot sampling, and 100% inventory methods.
 Basic knowledge of common computer/office software.
 Self-motivated and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
 Ability and willingness to work out of town as assigned for 1-2 week time periods.
Job Type: Full-time
Starting Compensation: $18.00 – $19.00 per hour, depending on experience; paid over-time
