Job description

The University of Alabama at Birmingham, Med - Infectious Diseases, is in search of a Clinical Research Coordinator I to join their team.
General Responsibilities
  • To serve as coordinator for studies and provide support to other team members within the confines of the protocol as directed.
  • To support screening and participant eligibility determination, working with more senior team members to ensure compliance.
  • To conduct activities in accordance with the protocol, regulations and Good Clinical Practice (GCP).
  • To assist with the study life cycle from start-up to closure, i.e., collecting and recording data, recruiting and performing follow-up with participants, scheduling visits and assisting in coordination of lab and fieldwork.

Key Duties & Responsibilities
  1. Serve as a liaison with community partners and collaborators, University Departments, ancillary departments and/or satellite facilities.
  2. Develop and implement study protocols and procedures, maintain records (including study logs, incentivization, etc.), track study milestones, and work with data management to conduct quality assurance of data collected.
  3. Review and monitor research projects.
  4. Coordinates and maintain participant enrollment and follow-up functions of the study including planning and developing related study activities.
  5. Employs strategies to maintain recruitment and retention rates and follow up on study participants.
  6. Prepares and submits multiple levels of research documentation (i.e., IRB, educational materials, reports, grant renewal reports, and study forms).
  7. In conjunction with Investigators, plans and implements the clinical protocol's goals and objectives.
  8. Maintains required research documentation.
  9. Performs review and monitor of the literature to help with study presentations and aids in development of presentations to key community partners and participants.
  10. Compiles, edits, and proof written reports for both internal and external administrative offices.
  11. Provides data for the creation of study budgets as needed.
  12. Maintains compliance with federal, state and accrediting agencies (sponsors).
  13. Prepares for team meetings special events, by creating agendas, collating supporting documents, and organizing.
  14. Perform other duties as assigned.

Salary Range : $ 43,890- $ 71,320
