Job Description
Job Summary:
The Senior Manager, Data Reporting & Analytics leads the enterprise Power BI and reporting function across multiple ERP platforms and business units. This role is accountable for both delivery and transformation-managing a team of Power BI developers while driving the transition from decentralized, gateway-based reporting to standardized Microsoft Fabric-based analytics. This role combines strong people leadership, deep technical expertise in Power BI and Microsoft Fabric, and enterprise-level coordination across business, ERP, and data platform teams. The Senior Manager ensures reporting solutions are scalable, governed, performant, and aligned to enterprise standards-while pragmatically supporting legacy content during the transition period.
Key Responsibilities:
People Leadership & Delivery Management:
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of Power BI developers
  • Own delivery planning, capacity management, and prioritization across reporting demands
  • Establish technical expectations, quality standards, and best practices across the team
  • Conduct performance reviews, mentor developers, and build long-term analytics capability

Enterprise Reporting Ownership:
  • Own the enterprise reporting portfolio spanning multiple ERP systems and data sources
  • Coordinate reporting development across business units to reduce duplication and inconsistency
  • Rationalize legacy and bespoke reports, guiding consolidation toward standard solutions
  • Serve as the accountable owner for reporting quality, performance, and reliability

Microsoft Fabric Transition & Modernization:
  • Lead the evolution from gateway-dependent, ERP-specific Power BI architectures to Microsoft Fabric-aligned patterns
  • Define coexistence strategies for legacy reports during the transition period
  • Drive adoption of shared semantic models, standardized datasets, and reusable reporting assets
  • Partner with data engineering and platform teams on Lakehouse, Warehouse, and OneLake integration

Technical Direction & Governance:
  • Set technical standards for Power BI, semantic modeling, DAX, and report design
  • Provide hands-on architecture and design reviews for complex or high-impact analytics
  • Act as escalation point for performance optimization, model design, and advanced DAX issues
  • Ensure appropriate use of Row-Level Security (RLS), Object-Level Security (OLS), and governance controls

Stakeholder & Demand Management:
  • Act as the senior reporting point-of-contact for business and ERP stakeholders
  • Translate business questions into scalable, enterprise-ready reporting solutions
  • Balance enterprise governance with pragmatic business delivery
  • Clearly communicate trade-offs, priorities, and roadmap implications

Enablement & Community Leadership:
  • Oversee development of Power BI training materials and internal best-practice guidance
  • Sponsor and run internal Power BI user group sessions (quarterly or more frequently)
  • Promote adoption of standardized patterns and continuous improvement across the organization

Required Professional & Leadership Experience:
  • 8-12+ years in analytics, BI, or reporting roles
  • 3-7+ years managing Power BI developers or analytics teams
  • Proven experience leading reporting functions through architectural or platform transformation
  • Demonstrated ability to influence across business units and technology teams

Technical Expertise:
  • Expert-level Power BI experience:
    • Advanced semantic modeling
    • DAX optimization and performance tuning
    • Large-scale enterprise datasets
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Fabric, including:
    • Lakehouse, Data Warehouse, OneLake
    • Direct Lake and Fabric-aligned modeling patterns
  • Deep experience with:
    • Dimensional modeling (star / snowflake schemas)
    • SQL optimization and query performance
    • On-premises gateways and cloud transition strategies
  • Experience implementing:
    • RLS / OLS
    • Governance, data quality checks, and documentation standards
  • Familiarity with Git-based source control and CI/CD patterns for Power BI and Fabric artifacts

Preferred Qualifications:
  • ERP reporting experience (SAP S/4, ECC, or comparable platforms strongly preferred)
  • Microsoft certifications such as PL-300 (or equivalent)
  • Exposure to Microsoft Purview for lineage and data governance
  • Experience with Power Platform (Power Apps / Power Automate) for write-back or workflow integration
  • Working knowledge of Python or R for advanced analytics scenarios

Salary Range:
$96,600.00-$128,800.000
