The Position

As a Data Quality Lead - Reinsurance Data Platform, you will be responsible for leading quality assurance efforts of Reinsurance Datawarehouse Application used extensively by Reinsurance business teams. The QA lead will work closely with the rest of the Arch Re product management team and business peers to effectively check quality and prepare evidence for Business and Audit signoff for Datawarehouse and Business intelligence project initiatives. The Role will be overseeing the full QA process to ensure reliable, high-quality software delivery. This role establishes and communicates QA standards, coordinates all aspects of software testing, and ensures alignment with business objectives. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience validating complex data transformations, managing test automation for pipelines, and leading cross-functional teams on cloud data in high scale environments, driving continuous improvement of our data quality and delivery in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment.

Location / Work Arrangement

This is a hybrid role based in the Farmington, CT office, with an expectation of regular in-office collaboration.

Job Responsibilities
  • Lead QA efforts of Reinsurance Datawarehouse Application releases
  • Critically analyze business requirements, build and execute QA test plan for Datawarehouse solutions.
  • Design the Master Test Plan (MTP) for data projects, choosing between manual spot-checks and automated regression suites
  • Lead a team of QA Analysts, reviewing their SQL scripts and test cases
  • Work with DevOps to integrate automated data tests into the deployment pipeline
  • Implement automated checks for data completeness and referential integrity within Snowflake
  • Verify Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) and data masking (PII/Sensitive financial data) to ensure compliance with GDPR or industry-specific regulations
  • Reconcile Power BI report against Snowflake raw data and source systems using complex SQL
  • Establish, maintain, and communicate quality assurance standards, procedures, and policies, including guidelines and best practices for test environment management.
  • Work closely with product manager to develop and execute action plans to address gaps if any
  • Produce quality control evidence for business and audit approval, as required
  • Lead User Acceptance Testing with Finance, Actuaries and Underwriters to ensure solution meets business needs
  • Communicate effectively with both the business and technical teams
  • Desired Skills
  • Extensive experience in software testing, including large-scale implementations, test automation, and data-driven frameworks.
  • Deep understanding of QA methodologies, tools, and Agile/Scrum practices.
  • Expert SQL skills (Window functions, CTEs, JSON parsing).
  • Proficiency in Power BI Desktop/Service, including DAX, Power Query (M),
  • Strong business orientation, delivering quality results aligned with organizational goals.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in Reinsurance or General Insurance (understanding of treaties, premiums, claims, and loss triangles).
  • Strong experience in Agile/Scrum environments and JIRA for defect tracking.
  • Experience with data testing automation.
  • Relevant experience working with 3rd party vendors delivering results.
Required Education/Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Management of Information Systems, or related field required
  • Minimum of 5+ years of Datawarehouse Testing experience.
  • Testing Automation experience.
  • Experience in Reinsurance\Insurance or financial organization
  • Good Communication Skills

For individuals assigned or hired to work in the location(s) indicated below, the base salary range is provided. Range is as of the time of posting. Position is incentive eligible.

$140,000 - $160,000/year

  • Total individual compensation (base salary, short & long-term incentives) offered will take into account a number of factors including but not limited to geographic location, scope & responsibilities of the role, qualifications, talent availability & specialization as well as business needs. The above pay range may be modified in the future.
