Job description

Job Title: Senior Data Quality / Data Governance Analyst

Location: Remote
Job Type: 6+ Months

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Data Quality / Data Governance Analyst to support enterprise data governance and data quality initiatives. This hybrid role combines hands-on data quality analysis with data governance responsibilities, requiring a strong technical background along with excellent business communication skills. Experience in the mortgage domain is highly preferred.

 Key Responsibilities
  • Lead data quality and data governance initiatives across enterprise data platforms.
  • Define, document, and manage critical data elements (CDEs), metadata, business glossaries, and data classifications.
  • Develop and maintain business glossaries using enterprise data catalog tools.
  • Gather, analyze, and document business rules, translating them into data quality rules where applicable.
  • Perform data profiling, validation, cleansing, and quality assessments.
  • Build and understand data lineage through source-to-target mappings.
  • Work closely with Business Data Owners, Data Stewards, and project stakeholders to improve data governance practices.
  • Classify sensitive and regulated data, including PII, and apply appropriate governance standards.
  • Support metadata management and data cataloging activities using modern governance tools.
  • Interpret business requirements and convert them into actionable data quality and governance solutions.
  • Collaborate with technical and business teams to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and compliance.
 Required Qualifications
  • 8+ years of experience in Data Quality, Data Governance, or related data management roles.
  • Strong experience with SQL, data profiling, and data analysis.
  • Hands-on experience with Snowflake, Databricks, and Microsoft Azure.
  • Strong understanding of ETL processes, data warehousing, and source-to-target mappings.
  • Experience with enterprise data catalog tools such as Collibra, Alation, Informatica IDMC, or similar platforms.
  • Experience creating and managing business glossaries, metadata, and critical data elements (CDEs).
  • Knowledge of data lineage, metadata management, and data classification.
  • Ability to identify and classify sensitive data, including PII.
  • Excellent communication skills with experience working directly with business stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
 Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in the mortgage or financial services industry.
  • Experience with Informatica IDMC or Microsoft Purview.
  • Knowledge of Alteryx or Informatica Data Quality tools.
  • Background in Data Modeling or Data Architecture.
  • Experience implementing data quality rules from documented business requirements.
  • Familiarity with data privacy and regulatory compliance standards.
