Job description

Valiant is looking for a Quality Assurance Specialist to join our team!
The CMS Quality Assurance (QA) Specialist reports to the VTS Site Manager (SM) as well as the VTS Program Manager (PM) and is responsible for ensuring product specifications are accurate and all hazardous materials (HM) are properly labeled at the Contractor warehouse prior to being delivered to the HTA's for customer usage. The QA specialist must be able to conduct inspections on both products and reports, to ensure accuracy and timeliness. Must plan, direct and coordinate the product surveillance program at the warehouse and coordinate with the warehouse employees as well as the QC Specialist for all programmatic (to include on-base) quality program needs. Must be able to assist the ALC with all product questions and concerns. Works directly under the QC Specialist but reports directly to the Site Manager and Program Manager on all warehouse matters. Must be able to properly diagnose issues and formulate corrective actions for both immediate fixes and long-term solutions. The QA Specialist must have a good eye for detail as well as be able to work in a warehouse daily where temperatures fluctuate constantly.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Establish and implement Quality Control and Safety Plans.
  • Review, update, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), instructions, and process instructions.
  • Execute developed procedures for multiple comprehensive monthly and quarterly reports as well as RFI's.
  • Manage Product Data Reporting and Evaluation Program (PDREP).
  • Capable of utilizing investigative / fact finding processes.
  • Capable of identifying, diagnosing, and analyzing problems and formulating recommendations and solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with all contract specifications and applicable regulations.
  • Conduct scheduled and unscheduled inspections for conformity and to ensure customer expectations are met.
  • Communicate deficiencies to the Program and or Site Manager and offer correction recommendations.
  • Assist with personnel training and maintenance of training records.
  • Provide input as needed for special projects and Process Improvement.
  • Perform on-call responsibilities as required.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of all contract requirements IAW the PWS.
  • Provide customer service, assistance, and advice in a proficient and professional manner.
  • Perform other assigned duties as directed in order to maintain positive customer relations/communications and meet contractual requirements.

SECURITY REQUIREMENTS: Must pass an initial background check, pass and sustain the DLA PSI background check for the duration of employment.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENT: High School Diploma or equivalent. Preference may be given to an associate degree or higher in a technical field.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 3+years of experience in controlling, managing, distributing, and storing HM or other relevant inventory management experience.
  • 3+uears of experience using an HM tracking system equivalent to EESOH-MIS.
  • Experience managing a QC program as a primary duty, establishing control procedures, analyzing data, performing QC surveillances of processes, procedures, and conformances to contract requirements.
  • Knowledge in organizing, conducting, implementing, and reporting Process Improvement Projects.
  • Must possess strong leadership, interpersonal, organization, and written and oral communication skills.
  • Skill in interpreting and applying product specifications, technical data, regulations, policy statements, and other guideline materials.
  • Skill in conducting studies and investigations, problem analysis, and developing logical and documented recommendations.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Physical requirements may include, but are not limited to, lifting, ascending, and descending stairs, climbing, extended sitting or standing, to various degrees.
