Be A Part Of Something Groundbreaking


AIG is seeking a detail oriented and proactive Data Privacy professional to support the organization's commitment to protecting personal information. This role is responsible ensuring compliance with global data protection regulations, managing privacy risk and promoting best practices across the business. The successful candidate will collaborate with cross functional teams to strengthen privacy governance, support regulatory requirements and help maintain customer and stakeholder trust through effective data protection practices.


How you will create an impact


  • Providing advice and guidance to business units and corporate functions on Privacy program risks.
  • Maintaining current knowledge of Americas laws and regulations relating to Privacy governance, operational and compliance risks, and implementing appropriate changes to existing policies, standards and compliance programs.
  • Participating as a key resource in AIG's Privacy Governance structure, including responsibilities relating to individual data subject rights, regulatory and individual notifications, records of data processing activities, privacy notice review, and Privacy Impact Assessments.
  • Participating in the development, implementation and maintenance of policies, standards, procedures, assessment processes and response plans, and related team contact information.
  • Interacting with Legal and Compliance stakeholders, and other liaisons;
  • Developing and reviewing privacy training program content.
  • Participating in the development and implementation of ongoing monitoring of Privacy risk programs.
  • Coordinating approvals for eDiscovery and other forensic investigations; working on the review and completion of the Global Compliance Risk Control Self-Assessment process for Americas Privacy.
  • Assisting the other members of the Global Privacy Team with the management, operation and maintenance of regional Privacy Team networks and Privacy Risk Incident ("PRI") response plans in Americas.
  • Participate in the assessment, supervision and fulfilment of legal and compliance actions to be undertaken prior to new technology, cloud and mobile app implementations.

What We Are Looking For

  • Previous Privacy experience required, such as relevant experience as a privacy professional, risk officer, or compliance officer in a corporate environment.
  • Demonstrable experience in designing and implementing new privacy processes and procedures.
  • Ability to record and disseminate complex information in succinct and meaningful summaries.
  • Analytical skills, with an inquisitive mind to explore data and identify critical issues and trends.
  • Competency with Microsoft Office 365 products Excel spreadsheets, PowerPoint, and other data repository and presentation tools.
  • Interest in new technology, devices, apps, Internet of Things, data science, Artificial Intelligence and other uses of data.
  • Excellent relationship management, empathic and with influencing skills demonstrated at all levels of the organization.
  • Team player and builder, supporting members of the team to attain their goals and objectives as a group.
  • Confident, engaging, authoritative and pragmatic approach.
  • Excellent communication skills, dynamic speaker and presenter, with ability to adapt style and approach appropriate to the situation.
  • Proven organizational, prioritization and forward planning skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated, enthusiastic and consistent focus on business goals.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • At least five years of privacy experience
  • IAPP certifications preferred (CIPP/E, CIPP/US, CIPM)
  • Previous experience working with diverse teams across Americas a plus


For positions based in New York, the base salary range is $81,000-$90,000 and the position is eligible for a bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan. Your actual compensation will be dependent on your skills, experience, and qualifications.
