Accountabilities:

  • The Senior Manager Data Services plays a pivotal role in shaping our future data asset management capability by facilitating the creation of processes, policies, and standards as well as shaping and laying foundations for the underpinning technologies.
  • Provides leadership for data integrity, architecture, modeling, security, DR, and performance tuning in a 24x7 environment consisting of cloud-based solutions.
  • Interact with business stakeholders to understand business strategy, scenarios, gaps, issues, and needs to create relevant data strategies and architectures that lead to positive business outcomes.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of Data Services professionals tasked with architecting, developing, and managing our Cloud Analytics Data Platform
  • Build a modern cloud data stack consisting of Data Lake, Pipelines for ingesting and processing batch and event data, Data warehouses and data linage and cataloging.
  • Implementation of system improvements and new technologies aimed at data storage, profiling, processing, management, security, and integration into business applications
  • Understanding of existing business applications to support information and solution architecture
  • Facilitate the establishment of change management processes to govern data input and maintenance, data stewardship and access control
  • Work with key stakeholders across the business to develop and manage key master data business processes, ensuring that we collect and maintain accurate information
  • Develop and own process for evaluating and auditing data quality (establish data quality KPIs, etc.) and providing direction to the business for improvement
  • Continuously look for data optimization processes and oversee data management, governance, security, and analysis
  • Maintaining a solid understanding of workflows, data dependencies and translating business, data, and reporting requirements into logical data structures
  • Hire the best talents, identify the potential of each team member, and offer technical guidance, leadership, and advice on planning, designing, and implementing data solutions
  • Ensure test-driven products/pipelines that are easily maintainable and reusable
  • Design and build an infrastructure for extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide range of data sources
Requirements:
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in managing, designing, and maintaining large scale data solutions
  • Equivalent degree in Computer Science, Math, Statistics, Information Systems, Informatics, Analytics, or another quantitative field
  • Experience managing engineers and guiding them through project planning, design, development, quality control, deployment, and data engineering best practices
  • Sound knowledge of building data pipelines, datasets, and data architecture from raw and unstructured data
  • Hands-on experience analyzing, architecting/re-architecting data platforms on Azure/AWS/GCP
  • Experience designing and implementing data ingestion solutions on Azure/AWS/GCP using different approaches
  • Must have experience designing and architecting data lakes on cloud platforms.
  • Knowledge of data security best practices and experience building secure data solutions
  • Advanced working SQL knowledge and experience working with a variety of relational databases, query languages, query authoring, and related tools
  • Knowledge of operating NoSQL clusters and event data stores
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, critical thinking, and troubleshooting skills
  • Strong knowledge of AWS tools and technologies
  • Experience building data products incrementally and managing various integrations and resources
  • Industry expertise in data modeling, data mining, and big data processing at scale
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English
