Job description

Job Description:

At dentsu, we help leading brands win visibility across a search landscape that's changing fast. We're looking for a Senior Manager, GEO to lead daytoday strategy, team operations, and client delivery across traditional SEO and AIpowered discovery for a complex enterprise client.

This is not a legacy SEO role with a new label. You'll be a leader in reshaping discovery through generative AI, answer engines, and LLMs - and help turn what's emerging into structured, scalable programs. You'll lead teams, partner with senior stakeholders, and balance technical rigor with experimentation as the discipline evolves. This role is ideal for a strong SEO leader who is excited by the search evolution.

What You'll Lead & Own:

GEO & SEO Strategy Leadership

  • Shape and evolve the team's GEO approach, identifying new opportunities, testing emerging tactics, and translating learnings into best practices

  • Partner closely with the Director on account direction, priorities, and escalations

  • Serve as the primary daytoday client contact and escalation point, leading working sessions, presentations, and strategic discussions

Technical & Content Excellence

  • Lead technical audits across crawlability, indexation, site architecture, structured data, and Core Web Vitals

  • Guide keyword research, competitive analysis, content opportunity assessments, and AI visibility evaluations

  • Lead GEO workstreams focused on content clarity, authority signals, citation readiness, and discoverability in generative search experiences

  • Translate technical findings and performance trends into clear, prioritized recommendations tied to business outcomes

Performance, Measurement & Delivery

  • Oversee performance reporting, insights, and business cases tied to GEO & SEO Impact

  • Monitor scope, pacing, and delivery quality-surfacing risks early and escalating as needed

  • Support major initiatives including site migrations, redesigns, CMS changes, and largescale launches

  • Partner crossfunctionally with content, analytics, media, development, and client teams

People & Operational Leadership

  • Manage and develop junior team members through coaching, feedback, and career support

  • Oversee team workflows, prioritization, and QA to ensure clientready delivery

  • Support hiring and onboarding, helping new team members ramp quickly and effectively

  • Improve processes, templates, and ways of working to increase efficiency and elevate quality

  • Contribute to broader capability building through training, POVs, and thought leadership

What You Bring

Experience & Skills

  • 5+ years of SEO experience, ideally in an agency or enterprise environment

  • 1+ years of direct people management experience

  • Proven experience leading enterpriselevel accounts and complex workstreams

  • Deep understanding of technical SEO, content strategy, onpage/offpage optimization, and performance analysis

  • Exposure to GEO / AEO / LLMO workflows preferred, including AI visibility or citation analysis (e.g., Profound, Bluefish)

  • Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and structured data

  • Handson experience with tools like Google Search Console, GA4, Adobe Analytics, Screaming Frog, BrightEdge, Semrush, Ahrefs, or similar

  • Strong ability to turn complex data into clear narratives and actionable recommendations

  • Confident, credible presence with client stakeholders

Mindset & Growth Orientation

  • Curious about how AI systems surface, interpret, and cite information

  • Energized by ambiguity and motivated to build in a growing space

  • Grounded in performance and data-but excited to test, learn, and iterate

  • Actively engaged in the industry and able to form informed points of view

  • Comfortable leading teams through change and developing workstreams

What Success Looks Like

  • You lead GEO and SEO work with strong judgment, prioritization, and followthrough

  • Your team delivers polished, highimpact work and continues to grow

  • Clients trust you to navigate complexity and translate emerging change into action

  • GEO evolves from experimentation into structured, scalable impact under your leadership

Why dentsu

You'll lead highimpact search work at a moment when the discipline is expanding rapidly. This role offers the chance to grow deep expertise in GEO, LLMO, and advanced SEO, manage and develop a strong team, and help define how modern search and AIdriven discovery evolve in practice.
