Job description

Job Summary:
Computer World Services Corp. (CWS) is seeking a Cybersecurity Service Provider (CSSP) Operations Team Lead to oversee a 24/7 cyber operations team. The role involves directing continuous cybersecurity monitoring, event analysis, incident response, and vulnerability management while ensuring compliance with DoD cybersecurity requirements.
Responsibilities:
โ€ข Lead, coordinate, and manage the 24/7 cyber operations team responsible for monitoring, detection, triage, and response across all network enclaves.
โ€ข Serve as senior operational authority for active cyber events, incident escalation, and enterprise security actions.
โ€ข Provide daily supervision, scheduling, and direction to CSSP operations staff in support of continuous monitoring requirements.
โ€ข Maintain situational awareness of cyber threats, adversarial activity, and operational risk across the environment.
โ€ข Provide expert-level technical direction, strategic advice, and operational guidance for all CSSP mission areas.
โ€ข Lead operational planning, milestone development, risk assessments, and major technical decisions.
โ€ข Oversee complex or mission-critical cybersecurity programs and ensure all technical requirements are met.
โ€ข Interface with senior Government leadership for incident reporting, operational decisions, and program priorities.
โ€ข Supervise junior staff and mentor technical team members.
โ€ข Oversee 24/7 security event monitoring, log correlation, anomaly detection, and analysis of alerts.
โ€ข Ensure rapid detection of threats involving malware, unauthorized access, data exfiltration, insider activity, and network exploitation.
โ€ข Utilize SIEM platforms (e.g., ArcSight) and IDS/IPS technologies for real-time analysis.
โ€ข Act as the central POC for Computer Emergency Response.
โ€ข Lead incident investigations, containment, eradication, and recovery actions.
โ€ข Provide internal and external incident reporting IAW DoD requirements.
โ€ข Support DoD-CERT and JFHQ-DODIN direction during cyber events.
โ€ข Operate and manage enterprise vulnerability scanning platforms (ACAS).
โ€ข Conduct monthly scans, IAVA processing, remediation tracking, and POA&M development.
โ€ข Perform STIG compliance checks and secure baseline validation.
โ€ข Oversee the operation and maintenance of enterprise security technologies including:
โ€ข IDS/IPS
โ€ข Endpoint Security System (ESS)
โ€ข ACAS
โ€ข Network perimeter defense tools
โ€ข Traffic monitoring and forensic systems
โ€ข Penetration testing solutions
โ€ข SIEM tools
โ€ข Ensure performance, tuning, and configuration are optimized and aligned with Zero Trust architecture.
โ€ข Perform audits on servers, workstations, network devices, and enclave infrastructure.
โ€ข Ensure compliance with:
โ€ข DoDI 8500.01 (Cybersecurity)
โ€ข DoDI 8510.01 (RMF)
โ€ข DoDD 8140.01
โ€ข DISA STIGs
โ€ข IAVA requirements
โ€ข CJCSM 6510.01
โ€ข JFHQ-DODIN and U.S. Cyber Command directives
โ€ข Conduct Security Readiness Reviews (SRRs) and validate secure configurations.
โ€ข Support the development and execution of a Cybersecurity Compliance Plan ensuring confidentiality, integrity, and availability (CIA) of Government systems.
โ€ข Participate in continuous monitoring and scoring programs including CMRS, Cyber Threat Score, Cyber Top 10, etc.
โ€ข Develop and maintain:
โ€ข POA&Ms
โ€ข AORs
โ€ข Security Override Letters
โ€ข Operational reports
โ€ข Incident summaries
โ€ข Vulnerability analysis reports
โ€ข Ensure timely reporting and corrective action planning for all non-compliance findings.
โ€ข Enforce strict change control procedures to prevent unauthorized system, network, and application changes.
โ€ข Ensure compliance with DoD-approved ports, protocols, and services (PPS) configurations.
โ€ข Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend improvements to operational processes, monitoring capabilities, and threat detection techniques.
โ€ข Develop advanced operating procedures, troubleshooting guides, installation guides, and security documentation.
Qualifications:
Required:
โ€ข Bachelorโ€™s degree in a related field.
โ€ข Ten (10) years of experience in Information Technology.
โ€ข At least eight (8) years of experience as a Security Administrator or in a similar technical role, or a closely related IT discipline involving oversight of large, complex, multi-site programs.
โ€ข CISSP or equivalent required
โ€ข Information Assurance Technical (IAT) II required
โ€ข Computing Environment (CE) certification relevant to Microsoft, Linux, Cloud, or other privileged access technologies (required)
โ€ข ITIL Required
โ€ข Must maintain all mandatory certifications
โ€ข Must be a U.S. Citizen.
โ€ข Selective Service registration required (if applicable).
โ€ข Top Secret Security Clearance required
โ€ข Must maintain fitness and eligibility for national security positions.
โ€ข Expert understanding of DoD cyber defense, enterprise security tools, and mission operations.
โ€ข Demonstrated ability to lead high-tempo cyber operations teams in a 24/7 environment.
โ€ข Strong communication skills to interface with senior Government leadership.
โ€ข Ability to balance mission urgency with compliance and structured processes.
โ€ข Advanced knowledge of SIEM, IDS/IPS, ESS, ACAS, STIGs, Zero Trust, and enterprise security architecture.
Preferred:
โ€ข Graduate-level degree preferred.
โ€ข Equivalent experience and industry certifications may substitute for formal education.
