Job Summary:
As part of a team, install and support commercial voice, video, and data customers across our fiber networks, assist with commercial fiber deployments during optical network commercial upgrades. Provide technical support, remote diagnostics, maintenance and installation of equipment in (Headends, Hubs, POP sites and commercial customer locations). This will include integrating new technologies and network system upgrades into existing Shentel network infrastructure to support broadband fiber/coax network connectivity for data, voice and video services. Position to support eastern OH markets including Caldwell, Marietta, and Cambridge, OH.
Certifications & Experience:
• Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA/CCNP) or equivalent work experience is preferred.
• Associate's Degree in Electronics/Networking/Electrical engineering is preferred.
• 3+ years of experience in an Advanced Technician role (Shentel Broadband or Maintenance Tech) or equivalent industry experience is required.
Environmental Requirements:
• Factors affecting environmental conditions will vary depending on the assigned work area and task.
• Ability to climb ladders and work in high places.
• Ability to work outdoors and in extreme weather conditions and varying topographic, wet and dry locations.
• Up to 25% daily travel time may be required.
• Lifts and carries loads of 70 lbs. or more, works in spaces such as hubs/HE/POP/Network rooms, works while standing 50 -70% of the time and performs work near power sources.
• Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License and safe driving record.
