Position Summary
This is an in-person job opportunity available in Frederick, MD and Tysons Corner, VA with 3 days in the office and 2 from home. Company policy is for staff to be in the office 3-times a week.
Intelice Solutions is a growth-focused Managed Services Provider (MSP) delivering proactive IT, cloud, cybersecurity, and network management services to organizations across multiple industries. We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Network Operations Center (NOC) Engineer who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about delivering exceptional client outcomes.
The ideal candidate combines strong technical troubleshooting skills with a proactive mindset, operational discipline, and a commitment to continuous improvement. This individual will be responsible for monitoring, maintaining, automating, and optimizing client infrastructure while serving as a key contributor to incident response, service reliability, cybersecurity initiatives, and operational excellence.
As a NOC Engineer, you will work closely with Service Desk, Security Operations (SOC), Projects, and Engineering teams to ensure the availability, security, and performance of client environments. Success in this role requires technical curiosity, strong communication skills, and the ability to think critically under pressure.
Key Responsibilities
Infrastructure Monitoring & Operations
  • Proactively monitor client environments, including networks, servers, cloud services, endpoints, applications, and security platforms.
  • Identify, investigate, and remediate performance, availability, and capacity issues before they impact clients.
  • Validate the health and functionality of backup systems, business continuity solutions, and disaster recovery processes.
  • Review and respond to alerts generated by monitoring and management platforms while minimizing alert fatigue through proper tuning and automation.

Incident Response & Service Restoration
  • Investigate and resolve incidents within established Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Participate in incident triage, root cause analysis, escalation management, and service restoration efforts.
  • Coordinate with internal technical teams, vendors, and client stakeholders during critical incidents.
  • Document corrective actions and contribute to post-incident reviews to improve overall service stability.

Network & Systems Administration
  • Support and maintain networking technologies including firewalls, switches, wireless infrastructure, VPNs, SD-WAN, and network security controls.
  • Administer Microsoft 365, Azure, Windows Server environments, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, virtualization platforms, and cloud-based services.
  • Assist with deployment, configuration, patching, and lifecycle management of infrastructure components.
  • Perform routine maintenance, firmware upgrades, and security updates across managed environments.

Automation & Continuous Improvement
  • Utilize automation and scripting tools to improve operational efficiency and reduce repetitive tasks.
  • Assist with the development and enhancement of monitoring standards, alerting frameworks, and operational procedures.
  • Identify opportunities to improve system reliability, scalability, security, and overall client experience.
  • Support platform integrations and automation initiatives using tools such as ConnectWise Automate, Liongard, ImmyBot, PowerShell, and other MSP technologies.

Cybersecurity & Compliance Support
  • Monitor security-related alerts and collaborate with cybersecurity teams to investigate and remediate threats.
  • Assist with vulnerability management, patch management, endpoint protection, and security best practices.
  • Support compliance initiatives and security frameworks where applicable.
  • Ensure secure operational practices are followed when managing client systems and data.

Documentation & Knowledge Management
  • Maintain detailed documentation of client environments, configurations, incidents, and resolution procedures.
  • Create and update knowledge base articles, standard operating procedures, and technical runbooks.
  • Document troubleshooting findings, resolution steps, and recommendations within the ticketing system.

Client & Team Collaboration
  • Communicate professionally and effectively with clients regarding incidents, maintenance activities, and service-related updates.
  • Partner with Service Desk, Projects, Engineering, and Security teams to deliver seamless client support.
  • Participate in operational meetings, technical reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Contribute to a positive, collaborative, and accountability-driven team culture.

Professional Development
  • Maintain current knowledge of emerging technologies, cybersecurity trends, cloud platforms, and MSP best practices.

Required Qualifications
  • 2+ years of experience supporting network, infrastructure, or managed IT environments.
  • Strong understanding of TCP/IP networking, routing, switching, DNS, DHCP, VPN technologies, and wireless networking.
  • Experience troubleshooting Windows operating systems, Windows Server environments, and Microsoft 365 services.
  • Familiarity with remote monitoring and management (RMM) platforms, ticketing systems, and documentation tools.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, client-facing environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to participate in scheduled on-call rotations as required.
