DATA ENGINEER I

The Technology & Data team is seeking a Data Engineer I to support the development, maintenance, and optimization of enterprise data solutions within a healthcare environment. This role will work closely with senior engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to build and support data pipelines, data integrations, and reporting solutions. The ideal candidate has foundational experience with Databricks, SQL, SQL Server, SSIS, PL/SQL, and healthcare data.

Key Responsibilities

Support the design, development, and maintenance of ETL/ELT data pipelines using Databricks and SQL technologies.

Assist with data ingestion, transformation, and integration processes across enterprise systems.

Develop and maintain SQL queries, stored procedures, views, and database objects.

Support the development and maintenance of SSIS packages and data integration workflows.

Work with Databricks and Apache Spark to process and transform data.

Troubleshoot data quality issues and assist with production support activities.

Collaborate with business users, analysts, and engineering teams to deliver data solutions.

Create and maintain technical documentation and process documentation.

Support data governance, data quality, and HIPAA compliance initiatives.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

0-3 years of experience in Data Engineering, Data Warehousing, Database Development, or a related field.

Working knowledge of Databricks and Apache Spark.

Strong SQL skills with the ability to write and troubleshoot complex queries.

Experience with Microsoft SQL Server.

Exposure to SSIS and PL/SQL development.

Understanding of ETL/ELT concepts and data integration processes.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Healthcare industry experience working with claims, provider, member, clinical, or operational data.

Experience with Python or PySpark.

Knowledge of data warehousing and dimensional modeling concepts.

Familiarity with HL7, FHIR, ICD-10, or CPT is a plus.

Databricks certification or related training is a plus.
