$75K - $100K/yr

Full-time

Job description

Think of us as a 100-year-old startup. Liberty Bay Credit Union is one of the oldest and most highly capitalized credit unions in the U.S., but we're the industry's best-kept secret. Based in Braintree and member-owned, we combine a century of New England stability with a fresh, high-energy purpose: to fuel the earning potential and personal ambitions of our members. We believe that advocacy, expertise, and honest guidance should be accessible to everyone.

We are looking for a versatile, forward-thinking leader to bridge the gap between our retail operations and technical modernization. If you are a visionary who wants to drive member growth and project success in a non-profit cooperative environment, we want to hear from you.
The Role

As a vital part of our Retail team, you will act as a bridge across member services, sales, technology, operations, and compliance. You aren't just managing a branch; you are seamlessly connecting sales and business development with technical and operational integration. You'll represent Liberty Bay at community events, drive marketing efforts, and lead our branch office teams to ensure the delivery of high-quality service.
What You'll Do

  • Drive Growth: Deliver exceptional member experiences, execute business development activities, and hit quarterly branch targets.
  • Lead & Mentor: Recruit, develop, and coach branch personnel (including supervisors, tellers, and financial service representatives) to foster a high-energy team culture.
  • Lead Strategic Projects: Serve as the primary project lead for banking system upgrades, including overseeing branch readiness, system testing, data extraction, and staff training.
  • Bridge the Gap: Act as the liaison between retail and member service teams to streamline operations, including the integration of overflow call processing.
  • Ensure Operational Excellence: Manage teller line operations (cash/negotiable instruments control), audit cash handling, and maintain strict adherence to banking regulations (BSA/AML, CIP, privacy laws) and security protocols.
  • Maximize Relationships: Create and maintain a cross-selling environment, identifying opportunities to expand member relationships via referrals to specialized partners like Mortgages and Commercial Lending.
  • Resolve & Represent: Handle complex member escalations and act as a brand ambassador for Liberty Bay through community-focused initiatives.

Requirements

Who You Are (Qualifications & Requirements)

  • Education: Associate's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • Leadership Experience: 2-3 years of Management experience in Retail Banking.
  • Technical Expertise: A proven history of system conversion experience within a financial institution is required. Hands-on experience with modern core banking systems (e.g., Fiserv DNA, Corelation) is highly preferred. Experience with XP2 and COOP Shared Branching is a plus!
  • Business Development: A solid track record of driving sales and growth in the banking or credit union industry.
  • Key Skills:
    • You are tech-savvy and thrive in fast-paced environments.
    • You possess strong interpersonal and communication skills.
    • You have a keen eye for operational detail and a "zero-defect" mindset.
    • You are a problem-solver who is genuinely driven to improve members' financial lives.

The Logistics

  • Schedule: 37.5-40 hours per week, with rotating weekend hours required.
  • Hours: Monday-Friday (8:30 AM - 4:30 PM); Saturday (9:00 AM - 1:00 PM).
  • Travel: Ability to travel between our branches (Braintree, Scituate, and Hingham) as staffing needs dictate.

Salary Range: $75,000 - $100,000

Benefits

We offer an extremely generous benefits package:

  • Health care plan (Employer paid)
  • Retirement plan (401k)
  • Life Insurance
  • Paid Time Off (vacation, sick, holidays)
  • Family Leave (maternity, paternity)
  • Short Term & Long Term Disability
