Job description

Old Harbor Solutions, a subsidiary of Three Saints Bay, LLC and a Federal Government Contracting leader is seeking a Gunsmith/Armorer to support our federal client in Ft. Benning, GA.
Responsibilities:
All activities to support successful execution of Armory operations to include but not limited to:
  • Perform firearm maintenance, repair and testing, and complete maintenance record documentation of weapons.
  • Perform periodic and random inspections of authorized firearm systems including carbines, less lethal shotguns, pistols and other specialty launchers.
  • Perform inventories of all weapons, equipment and ammunition located at the armory.
  • Issue agency owned weapons, equipment and ammunition as needed.
  • Prepare test plans, reports and oversee the development of test protocol; continually seeks improved ways of evaluating accuracy, quality, and overall performance of firearms and ammunition, performing Sporting Arms and Ammunition Institute (SAAMI) pressure and velocity assessments, conducting tests, ensuring tests are valid, and writing comprehensive and detailed reports to support the validity of research findings along with the methodology utilized to meet the objectives of testing procedures.
  • Conduct tests and evaluations of sample firearms.

Requirements:
  • U.S. Citizen
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment background check
  • Ability to pass agency clearance
  • Academic high school diploma or G.E.D
  • Completion of an accredited gunsmith training program.
  • Demonstrate thorough knowledge of Glock & SIG Sauer pistols; such knowledge must include operating controls, disassembly and assembly, safety systems, and safe handling methods.
  • Ability to use computers, including the preparation of documents and inputting data. Knowledge of Microsoft Office is required.
  • Demonstrate substantial knowledge (which includes the ability to disassemble and perform all repairs without additional guidance or instruction) of firearms repair and maintenance procedures for the Glock pistol and SIG Sauer P320C pistol.
  • Ability to diagnose malfunctions and other functional problems. Demonstrated ability must include the process for refurbishing these pistols, including refinishing, and restoring to like-new mechanical condition as well as the process for rebuilding these firearms from a stripped receiver.
