A day in the life
As a Data Center Security Specialist, no two days are the same - but each one starts with keeping our customers' data safe. You'll begin your day reviewing overnight security activity, triaging operational tickets, and checking in with the contract guard force. Mid-morning might involve a site walkthrough to inspect access control points, cameras, and perimeter security - identifying anything that needs repair or attention

You'll coordinate with vendors on maintenance tickets and track open work orders against SLAs. After lunch, you might join a meeting with data center operations to align on an upcoming construction project or walk a new build site with security design standards in mind. You'll review alarm data to spot trends in false activations and work with stakeholders on reduction strategies.

By the end of the day, you're documenting findings, updating metrics trackers, and preparing notes for your Area Security Manager. Some days will take you across multiple sites on your campus. Throughout it all, you're the on-the-ground expert making sure physical security standards are met and our customers can trust that their data is protected.
