Position Summary...Role summary:
The Manager, Data Governance is responsible for implementing and operationalizing Walmart Claims Services' data governance program. This role partners across business, Product, Engineering, Analytics, and Data teams to establish governance standards, improve data quality, enable compliant data access and sharing, and drive adoption of enterprise data governance practices. The role ensures trusted, secure, and business-ready data that supports informed decision-making, regulatory compliance, and delivery of high-value data products.
About the team:
The Data Governance team enables Walmart Claims Services to treat data as a strategic asset. We establish the standards, processes, and capabilities that ensure data is accurate, trusted, secure, and accessible. Working closely with business and technology partners, we support enterprise data strategy through governance, stewardship, metadata management, data quality, and responsible data sharing—empowering teams to confidently use data to improve business outcomes and customer experiences.   • Implement data governance standards, policies, and stewardship practices.
  • Partner with business and technology teams to improve data quality and resolve issues.
  • Support metadata management, business glossaries, and the Enterprise Data Portal.
  • Enable secure, role-based data access and governed data sharing.
  • Provide governance for sensitive and regulated data.
  • Deliver governance training, track KPIs, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Embed governance into operational processes and data product delivery.

  • Experience implementing data governance and stewardship practices.
  • Strong understanding of data quality, metadata management, and governance frameworks.
  • Ability to collaborate across business, Product, Engineering, and Analytics teams.
  • Knowledge of data access, privacy, and regulatory requirements such as HIPAA and GDPR.

The annual salary range for this position is $80,000.00 - $155,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :
