Job description

PYA is seeking a Staff or Senior Consultant focused on Forensic Services to join its high-performing and privately-owned firm with a dynamic culture and a strong national reputation. This individual will join PYA’s collaborative Consulting Department which serves clients in all 50 states.

Responsibilities

  • Examines and interprets complex financial data, identifying patterns and detecting discrepancies or irregularities for forensic accounting projects for PYA clients
  • Analyzes financial data effectively utilizing Microsoft Excel, including Pivot tables and complex formulas, accounting software, data analysis tools, and forensic accounting techniques
  • Reviews financial records and transactions to ensure accuracy and completeness and then works with the PYA team to evaluate information objectively
    • Assesses potential fraud risks
    • Proposes effective investigative strategies
    • Conveys complex financial information clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing to PYA clients
    • Provides assistance with litigation support matters as needed
  • Displays a curiosity to learn from experienced leaders who support and guide the team
  • Lead various work streams within a project, with guidance from senior leadership, by managing day to day engagement priorities individually and as a part of a team

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of accounting, auditing, or financial investigation experience at a professional services and/or consulting firm preferred
  • Pursuit of or certification including Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), or Certified in Financial Forensic (CFF) preferred
  • Demonstrated experience self-reviewing work product and exhibiting attention to detail
  • Client-oriented work ethic, delivering high-quality results
  • Creative problem solver with a high level of strategic, analytical, and conceptual skills and a passion for helping clients
  • Ability to work irregular hours during investigations or legal proceedings
