Job description

Job Summary:

As a member of the BDOADVANTAGE team, the Extraction Solutions Senior Associate is responsible for leading complex data extraction and transformation efforts across multiple client ERP systems. This role supports the design, development, and implementation of standardized ETL workflows, tools, and methodologies used by audit professionals. The position requires a strong technical foundation, the ability to solve complex data challenges, and a focus on improving data quality, consistency, and scalability.

The successful candidate will communicate effectively with a broad audience, demonstrate strong organizational and problem-solving skills, and contribute to continuous improvement of extraction processes and solutions.
Job Duties:

  • Works with engagement teams and clients to implement and support data extraction tools, workflows, and solutions across a variety of ERP systems
  • Manage the process of identifying and extracting client data based on analytic requirements using data analysis, research, and technical extraction skills.
  • Independently engage with client personnel and engagement teams to understand ERP-specific business rules and make extraction design decisions to apply those rules in the extraction.
  • Data preparation and routing into BDO analytics platforms
  • Identifies, triages, and resolves support requests
  • Establishes and maintains customer satisfaction methods and information


Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree, required; focus in Accounting, Accounting Information Systems, Data Analytics, Computer Science, preferred

Experience:

  • Three (3) or more years of experience with data extraction, data engineering, ETL development, or analytic development, required
  • Audit, assurance, or accounting client service experience, preferred
  • Experience working with large-scale financial or transactional datasets, preferred
  • Experience partnering with cross-functional stakeholders (e.g., audit teams, clients, technical teams) to define data requirements and deliver solutions, preferred

Software:

  • One (1) or more years of experience with any of the following ETL resources, required
    • Power BI, Fabric, or Alteryx
    • Azure Data Factory or Databricks 
    • Azure SQL Database 
    • Azure Storage Accounts / Data Lakes
  • Experience integrating data from ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Sage Intacct, NetSuite, or QBO using analytics tools like Power BI, Alteryx, and Tableau, preferred
  • Working knowledge of various ERP systems and accounting packages, preferred
  • Alteryx, MS Excel and Power BI data cleansing techniques, preferred
  • Ability to write SQL queries and manage large data sets within SQL Server, preferred

  • Ability to adapt, self-motivate, and learn new tools
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a broad audience ranging from technical to non-technical
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer relationship skills, required
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines

  • Ability to document processes and demonstrate technical solutions to end users
  • Ability to perform data quality checks and identify anomalies in datasets
  • Ability to interact effectively with people at all organizational levels
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
  • Good understanding of testing and quality assurance for data extraction processes

Individual salaries that are offered to a candidate are determined after consideration of numerous factors including but not limited to the candidate's qualifications, experience, skills, and geography.

National Range: $90,000 - $120,000
Maryland Range:  $90,000 - $120,000
NYC/Long Island/Westchester Range:  $90,000 - $120,000
