Position Summary

The Data Entry Specialist is a full-time, on-site position based in Hollister, California. This role supports the administrative and student-service operations of Salinas City Elementary School District by accurately entering, updating, verifying, and maintaining student, staff, and administrative records.

The specialist works closely with school and district personnel to ensure that information is complete, accurate, secure, and available when needed. The position requires careful attention to detail, dependable time management, professional communication, and strict compliance with confidentiality requirements and established district procedures.

  • Accurately enter, update, and maintain student, staff, and administrative information in district databases and information systems.
  • Review information from multiple sources to confirm its accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
  • Perform routine quality-control checks and correct errors or discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Maintain organized electronic records and follow established filing and document-retention procedures.
  • Prepare basic reports, summaries, spreadsheets, and other administrative documents as requested.
  • Respond professionally and promptly to internal requests for information.
  • Collaborate with school-site and district staff to support efficient administrative workflows.
  • Protect confidential student, staff, and district information in accordance with applicable policies and procedures.

  • Perform other related clerical and administrative duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Strong keyboarding and data-entry skills, with an emphasis on speed, accuracy, and consistency.
  • Proficiency with computers and common office applications, including spreadsheets, databases, email, and word-processing software.
  • Ability to review records carefully, identify discrepancies, and make accurate corrections.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to maintain orderly electronic records.
  • Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills.
