Job Summary:

This position combines the responsibilities of a Data Technician and a Quality Assurance Technician. You will play a key role in maintaining data integrity, supporting quality control processes, and ensuring the efficient packaging of our products. This role will initially focus on a hybrid of QA and packaging duties, with a gradual shift towards a greater emphasis on QA as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Data Management:
    • Entering and updating data systems and reports
    • Maintaining databases
    • Calibrating equipment
    • Synchronizing data within different databases
    • Reconciling different systems
    • Completing project work and studies (particularly yield studies)
  • Quality Assurance:
    • Routine monitoring and data collection to support FSQA objectives
    • Performing Warner-Bratzler shear force testing and image analysis for tenderness testing
    • Performing chemical concentration testing
    • Evaluating safety and quality objectives in returned products
    • Maintaining carcass traceability system
  • Packaging and Order Fulfillment:
    • Organize, weigh, package, and label products
    • Fulfill orders accurately
    • Prepare skids and outgoing orders for deliveries
    • Feed and unload processing machines
    • Assist machine operators

Qualifications:

  • Secondary School Diploma or equivalent; preference given to candidates with a college degree in food technology or a related field
  • Previous experience in data entry, quality assurance, or food production is an asset
