Job description

Verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment by performing the following duties to quality and productivity standards.
This job description reflects the current assignment of essential functions and is not meant to be all-inclusive. Duties and responsibilities may be assigned or reassigned to this job at any time and may be modified to reasonably accommodate an individual with a disability or for other reasons.

Receiving:

  • Inventory received from warehouse or freight bill;
  • Open reference in KC, Complete input of general information (description of cargo, shipper, trailer number, bill of lading, etc.)
  • Assign a receiving number in AS400 WMS
  • Print general identification labels
  • Write reference number on a manila folder;

Warehouse (Warehouse Mgmt. System):

  • Warehouse staff delivers inventory report (and applicable notes) to Shipping/Receiving Dept
  • Create and send to customer OS&D Report if applicable
  • Finalize receiving report and send report to customer
  • Scan file documents into server
  • Transfer data into Aduasis
  • Pass file to Southbound Traffic staff

Shipping:

  • Create warehouse shipping file and input shipping data (carrier, trailer number, seal number, bundles, crossing date, etc.)
  • Assign a shipping control number
  • Include all receiving controls that are planned to be shipped
  • Finalize shipping process and send all back-up documents to Accounting Department.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Training & Experience):

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. preferred but not required
  • One to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LICENSE AND CERTIFICATIONS: No specific licenses or certifications are required. However, relevant certifications will be considered as part of the qualifications and experience.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of part numbers and part usage and understand applications for use.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to maintain good clerical etiquette with above-average data entry skills.
  • Ability to follow strict processes to ensure quality.
  • Ability to communicate in English & Spanish clearly & effectively, both orally & in writing.
  • Ability to quickly understand program rules to identify, correct and eliminate errors.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to take and follow directions from supervisor.
  • Ability to give directions to and gain compliance from assigned staff.
  • Ability to perform other duties as assigned.
  • Ability to maintain good planning, organizational skills and excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to use computer hardware, various software programs and technologies, including word processing and spreadsheet programs.
  • Ability to maintain a good and positive working relationship with all co-workers and other contacts.
  • Required to comply with all IMPERATIVE LOGISTICS's policies and procedures.
  • Ability to follow all rules of telephone courtesy in all telephone communications

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT: Work is performed inside an office working closely with others and alone. Work involves rotating shifts and working extended workdays outside the regular working hours and on-call status; Work requires simple grasping, standing, sitting, climbing stairs and ladders, walking, carrying up to 15 pounds, and light lifting under 24 pounds. Ability to see, write, count, read, identify shade of colors, and hearing is needed to perform essential functions.
