About the role
The Machine Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient setup, operation, monitoring, and troubleshooting of converting and packaging equipment, including Elsner, and PCMC machinery. This role ensures products are manufactured to quality, productivity, and safety standards while minimizing downtime and waste.
Your responsibilities
  • Operate, monitor, and adjust Elsner and PCMC converting and packaging equipment, including line startups, machine setups, product changeovers, and shutdowns to ensure safe and efficient production.
  • Perform quality inspections, monitor machine performance, and troubleshoot equipment, process, and product issues to maintain quality standards and maximize operational efficiency.
  • Conduct routine operator maintenance, including cleaning, lubrication, inspections, jam clearing, and support for preventive maintenance activities.
  • Complete production documentation, downtime reports, and quality records while adhering to GMPs, SOPs, safety requirements, and 5S housekeeping standards.
  • Communicate production and equipment concerns, support training and cross-training initiatives, and participate in continuous improvement efforts focused on safety, quality, waste reduction, and productivity.

The experience we're looking for
  • Experience operating Elsner, PCMC, converting, packaging, tissue, wipes, or nonwoven manufacturing equipment required.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • 1-3 years of manufacturing or machine operator experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), or Continuous Improvement methodologies preferred.
  • Previous forklift experience and certification, or the ability to obtain certification, preferred.

The skills for success
  • Experience operating converting, packaging, tissue, wipes, or nonwoven manufacturing equipment.
  • Ability to perform machine startups, clear jams, execute manual operations, conduct shutdowns, and assist with changeovers, washouts, and preventive maintenance activities.
  • Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.
  • Mechanical aptitude with the ability to use hand tools and measuring devices.
  • Basic computer skills for production reporting and data entry.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety, quality, and productivity standards.
