Job description

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and monitor all plant systems including conveyors, dryers, screens, and mixing drums
  • Control the blending and mixing of raw materials to produce asphalt to specified standards
  • Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on plant equipment
  • Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical or operational issues to minimize downtime
  • Maintain accurate production and maintenance records
  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and company safety policies
  • Coordinate with truck drivers and dispatch to ensure timely loading and delivery
  • Assist with plant setup, shutdown, and cleaning procedures
  • Operate heavy equipment such as loaders or skid steers as needed

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required, technical training or certifications a plus
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in asphalt plant operations or related field
  • Strong mechanical skills and familiarity with industrial equipment
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and production specifications
  • Basic computer skills for data entry and control systems
  • Must be able to work in varying weather conditions and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Valid driver's license; CDL preferred but not required

Preferred Skills
  • Knowledge of asphalt mix designs and quality control procedures
  • Experience with computerized plant control systems
