Job description

SUMMARY:
Responsible for ensuring that all incoming raw products and commodities are cooled according to company specifications while maintaining product quality, food safety standards, accurate documentation, and efficient receiving operations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Operate vacuum cooling tubes and associated equipment according to established procedures and specifications.
  • Monitor cooling processes to ensure all products reach required temperature standards.
  • Perform routine equipment inspections, including oil level checks and other assigned operational checkpoints before and during equipment operation.
  • Identify and report equipment malfunctions, safety concerns, or process deviations to the Receiving Manager or onsite supervisor.
  • Complete all cooling tube logs, operational records, and required paperwork accurately and thoroughly before submission to the Receiving Manager.
  • Monitor product conditions throughout the cooling process and document results as required.
  • File, maintain, and organize records for incoming product loads using barcode systems, batch information, and receiving documentation.
  • Ensure all receiving and cooling records are accurate, complete, and maintained according to company standards.
  • Coordinate with receiving personnel to ensure proper handling and processing of incoming products.
  • Assist with receiving activities, including product identification, labeling, and documentation.
  • Accurately identify commodities grown, packed, or purchased by the company and outside suppliers.
  • Verify product information and labeling requirements are completed correctly.
  • Perform nitrogen flushing procedures and ensure proper liner sealing for designated raw products.
  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and sanitation standards within the cooling tube and receiving areas.
  • Follow all company food safety, quality assurance, and workplace safety policies and procedures.
  • Support continuous quality improvement efforts and maintain compliance with operational standards.
  • Communicate operational issues, product concerns, equipment problems, or safety incidents promptly to the Receiving Manager or onsite supervisor.
  • Collaborate effectively with receiving, production, and quality teams to ensure efficient workflow.
  • Perform additional receiving and warehouse-related duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience operating vacuum cooling tubes or similar agricultural processing equipment preferred.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills required.
  • Basic computer proficiency, including data entry and electronic recordkeeping.
  • Experience in produce, agriculture, food processing, or receiving operations preferred.

OTHER SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and seasonal peak schedules as needed.
  • Advanced bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish (read, write, and speak).
  • Strong time management, organizational, multitasking, and customer service skills in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-motivated with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with employees, customers, and clients.

WORK ENVIORNMENT

  • Flexibility to walk and/or stand for extended periods of time as needed.
