As a Parking Enforcement Officer, you play a vital role in supporting the smooth operation of parking services by ensuring parking regulations are applied fairly, consistently, and professionally while delivering exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Patrol properties to maintain safety
  • Maintain close communication with dispatch using two-way radio or cell phone
  • Relay information about incidents or emergencies to appropriate personnel
  • Write warnings and citations for illegally parked vehicles
  • Identify vehicles in violation of parking codes
  • Observe and report hazardous conditions such as missing traffic signs or street markings
  • Observe and report suspicious objects or vehicles
  • Monitor environmental conditions to detect possible hazards (ice, etc.)
  • Use hand-held device to enter and retrieve vehicle information
  • Investigate and answer complaints regarding contested parking citations
  • Prepare and maintain operational records ie: activity logs and contested citations
  • Collect coins from parking meters
  • Maintain assigned equipment
  • Perform simple vehicle maintenance, such as checking oil and report mechanical problems to the Manager
  • Other duties as assigned
