Job description

Key Personnel is seeking a Medical Billing AR & Charge Entry Specialist for a nephrology practice in the Tulsa, OK area.

Medical Billing AR & Charge Entry Pay: $18-$22/hr
Medical Billing AR & Charge Entry Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 4:30pm

Medical Billing AR & Charge Entry Responsibilities:

• Prepare hospital lists for accurate charge entry processing
• Enter charges from hospitals, dialysis units, and office visits using accurate ICD-10 and CPT coding
• Review documentation and query providers regarding coding or documentation discrepancies
• Identify and enter missed charges from provider visits and documentation reviews
• Ensure all patient encounters are accurately documented within the electronic health record (EHR) system
• Monitor and follow up on rejected, held, or failed claims through the clearinghouse
• Research and resolve denied, rejected, or unpaid claims with insurance payers
• Maintain accurate records of claim status and resolution efforts
• Assist with payment posting support and account reconciliation as needed
• Answer patient phone calls regarding account balances, billing inquiries, and claim status
• Maintain patient insurance information and ensure records are current and accurate
• Scan, file, and organize billing and patient documentation
• Support the billing team with administrative tasks and workflow management
• Communicate effectively with providers, dialysis facilities, hospitals, patients, and insurance representatives

Medical Billing AR & Charge Entry Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• CPC certification or equivalent coding certification preferred but not required
• Previous medical billing, charge entry, accounts receivable, or healthcare office experience preferred
• Knowledge of ICD-10, CPT coding, and medical terminology preferred
• Experience working with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and documentation
• Excellent written, verbal, and keyboarding skills
• Strong organizational and time-management abilities
• Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced medical office environment
• Professional demeanor and commitment to patient confidentiality
• Reliable attendance and strong work ethic

• In-person position within an outpatient nephrology clinic setting
