Job description

Are you a detail-oriented accounting professional looking to join a growing organization where you can make an immediate impact? Our client is seeking a Senior Accounting Analyst to join its Corporate Accounting team. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a fast-paced, acquisition-driven environment with exposure to lease accounting, financial reporting, process improvement, and cross-functional collaboration.

What You'll Do:
  • Prepare and record journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting analyses to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Perform monthly balance sheet account reconciliations and investigate variances.
  • Review, maintain, and administer lease agreements in accordance with ASC 842.
  • Assist with lease accounting activities, including lease modifications, renewals, and related accounting entries.
  • Review landlord invoices, CAM reconciliations, and resolve landlord/tenant billing discrepancies.
  • Collaborate with Accounts Payable to ensure expenses are properly coded and reconciled.
  • Support month-end and year-end close activities.
  • Participate in financial reporting, audit support, and SOX compliance activities.
  • Analyze accounting processes and identify opportunities for automation and process improvements.
  • Partner cross-functionally with operations, finance, and other internal stakeholders.
  • Assist with ad hoc accounting projects and special analyses as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 4+ years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP.
  • Experience with lease accounting (ASC 842) preferred.
  • Experience reviewing lease agreements, lease administration, or property accounting is highly desirable.
  • Experience with CAM reconciliations, landlord invoices, or tenant billing is a plus.
  • Strong general ledger, journal entry, and balance sheet reconciliation experience.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, SUMIFS, etc.).
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • CPA or public accounting experience is a plus but not required.

Preferred Experience:
  • Lease accounting software experience.
  • Property accounting or multi-location business experience.
  • Experience supporting acquisitions or rapidly growing organizations.
  • ERP system experience (Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains is a plus).
