Role Overview
VersAbility Resources is seeking a detail-oriented and dependable General Clerk II to support our Military Sealift Command (MSC) Government Contract. This AbilityOne position is ideal for individuals who enjoy administrative work, data entry, records management, and working in a structured office environment.
In this role, you'll support daily administrative operations by processing correspondence, maintaining personnel records, performing accurate data entry, and following established government procedures. The ideal candidate is organized, professional, and committed to producing high-quality work while supporting mission-critical government operations.
What You'll Do
• Perform accurate data entry and maintain personnel records in manual and electronic systems.
• Process correspondence, administrative documents, and records in accordance with established procedures.
• Follow written instructions, technical guidance, and government contract requirements.
• Maintain organized files while ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and professionalism.
• Identify routine operational issues and communicate concerns to leadership.
• Utilize Microsoft Office and other office technology to complete assigned work.
• Support administrative operations while providing quality customer service.
• Adhere to organizational policies, procedures, and government contract requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of one (1) year of clerical, administrative support, data entry, or office experience required.
• Previous administrative or clerical experience preferred.
• Experience performing data entry in military databases is highly preferred.
• Valid driver's license required due to military base access requirements.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance. At a minimum, Interim Secret Clearance is required prior to receiving a start date.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to follow established procedures.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office and standard office equipment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements
This position operates in a structured office environment supporting a federal government contract. Daily work includes frequent interaction with coworkers, contract personnel, and government customers while utilizing computers and other office technology.
The role requires prolonged periods of sitting, frequent keyboarding and data entry, occasional standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 20 pounds. Employees must be able to maintain confidentiality, comply with government security requirements, and obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position.
Schedule
This is a full-time position scheduled Monday through Friday 7:00am to 3:30pm or 7:30am to 4:00pm, based on department needs. Specific work hours will be discussed during the interview process. Occasional overtime or schedule adjustments may be required based on contract needs and operational demands.
