Zimmerman Associates, Inc. (ZAI) is seeking a Data Processing Specialist / General Clerk II to support data entry, document processing, and records management activities within the FDA Adverse Event Reporting System (FAERS) database, including the Data Management Platform (DMP). This role is responsible for accurately inputting data from source documents into FDA systems, preparing and scanning documents, and maintaining databases and records in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, basic technical writing skills, and experience with data entry and document management processes.
Duties / Functional Responsibilities- Inputs data from source documents into an FDA device/system per SOP.
- Scans documents, assigns indices, and loads database with image data.
- Prepares source documents (e.g., splitting reports, collating report pages, etc.) for data entry.
- Uses experience and judgment to select procedures for searching, interpreting, selecting, or coding items for data entry from a variety of source documents.
- Compiles and summarizes statistics on reports received for workload planning.
- Performs repetitive data entry from standardized source documents as needed.
- Coordinates with supervisor to ensure contract deliverables are completed in a timely manner.
- Maintains files and records.
- Develops and maintains SOPs, Work Guides, and reference files.
- Attends team meetings as requested.
Required Qualifications- High School Diploma or equivalent (Associate's degree preferred)
- Ability to type 40 words per minute with a maximum of two errors
- Familiarity with data entry and transcribing procedures
- Understanding of modern data entry and computer equipment
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in repetitive data tasks
Preferred Qualifications- Technical writing experience preferred
