Branch Office Clerk Job Description

The Branch Office Clerk shall be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

  • Route accounting for several routes, including milk and ice cream
  • Data Entry
  • Keying drivers orders
  • Answering telephones/Reception
  • Calculating and reporting payroll
  • Ordering and inventorying office supplies
  • Typing Correspondence including:
    • School bids
    • Price increases/decreases
    • Letters
    • Monthly store promo forms
  • Verifying route deposits
  • Contacting customers for special orders or corrections to their billing
  • Verifying and correcting cash tickets
  • Handling petty cash
  • Verifying drivers’ fuel receipts with monthly fuel statements
  • Coding branch payables
  • Cleaning and maintaining local office equipment (including changing ribbons and paper, and replacing toner when needed)


Must be able to operate all office machines in an efficient manner, including entering information continuously on a keyboard. May be required to enter the cooler, a cool and wet environment, and the freezer, a very cold environment (less than 20 degrees below zero), and crawl, twist and turn, and move and carry objects weighing as much as 40 pounds. Must be able to follow both written and verbal instructions and perform basic mathematics.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

High School diploma or G.E.D. is required
