Description

This Commerce Engineering Program Manager will operate in a multi-functional role within a fast-paced, data-focused environment. You’ll collaborate with small, highly skilled data engineering teams and partner groups to develop large-scale data capabilities and solutions to support Apple Services Engineering feature initiatives and deliver high-quality datasets and analytical outcomes. In this role, you’ll often juggle multiple complex projects at once, balancing shifting priorities while keeping teams aligned and moving forward. Because our work touches sensitive customer and business data, a deep respect for privacy and a commitment to Apple’s industry-leading privacy standards are essential. Successful candidates should bring strong program and project management skills, exceptional communication abilities, and a belief in the power of data-driven results.

  • Project manage and partner with other EPMs to manage the data engineering track for creating and enhancing data pipelines that support the Analytics Engineering space for Subscriptions & Billings Aggregate, within Apple’s Commerce business area
  • Track multiple concurrent projects including scope, requirements, timelines, roadmaps, project plans, resource allocation, stakeholder management, communications, engineering sprint coordination, and risk assessments, both within the team and with multiple project partners
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Analytics, Production Support, QA, Information Security, Privacy, and other organizations to build and manage products to support Apple Services Engineering data pipelines
Responsibilities
  • Project manage and partner with other EPMs to coordinate the data engineering track for creating and enhancing data pipelines that support the Analytics Engineering space for Subscriptions within Apple’s Commerce business area
  • Track multiple concurrent projects involving scope, requirements, timelines, roadmaps, project plans, resource allocation, stakeholder management, communications, engineering sprint coordination, and risk assessments
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Analytics, Production Support, QA, Information Security, Privacy, and other teams to build and manage products to support Apple Services Engineering data pipelines
  • Drive complex, cross-functional, and comprehensive project plans independently
  • Deliver high-quality results while working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrate exceptional verbal and written communication, including presentation skills to all levels of the organization
Minimum Qualifications
  • 6+ years of project management experience, specifically within a large-scale data engineering or analytics environment
  • Project Management: Strong familiarity with Agile methodologies, Proven success driving cross-functional programs across engineering and other teams within a fast-paced environment, Excellent communication, risk management, and stakeholder-alignment skills, Comfortable diving deep to understand processes, systems, and policies to ensure high-quality solutions
  • Technical Skillset: Familiarity with big data technologies and modern data engineering concepts
  • BS in Information Systems, Data Science, Computer Science, Business, or Engineering majors preferred or relevant and equivalent industry experience including Data analytics experience with business acumen and data comprehension
Preferred Qualifications
  • Conceptual understanding of big data engineering and data analytics
  • Data and analytics project management experience
  • Experience with commerce, subscriptions, and/or customer lifecycle data ecosystems
  • Leadership and gravitas to drive conversations with analytics stakeholders
  • Ability to deliver high-quality results while working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
  • Process-oriented and detail-oriented approach
  • Understanding of agile project management methodologies
  • Strong facilitation skills to drive a complex, cross-functional, and comprehensive project plan independently
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication, including presentation skills to all levels of an organization
  • Aptitude and willingness to learn along with proactive attitude and energy

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $166,600 and $296,000, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple’s Employee Stock Purchase Plan. You’ll also receive benefits including: Comprehensive medical and dental coverage, retirement benefits, a range of discounted products and free services, and for formal education related to advancing your career at Apple, reimbursement for certain educational expenses — including tuition.
