Position Summary

The Senior Director of Data, BI and Engineering has primary responsibility for setting the strategy and vision and overseeing the ongoing duties of the Business Intelligence/Data Analytics (BI/DA) Team. This role will be responsible for all strategic, tactical, operational, financial, human, and technical resource managerial responsibilities associated with BI/DA.

The role is ideal for ambitious and self-motivated individuals who want to build a new team that can have a transformational impact in a fast-growing enterprise. The Senior Director of Data, BI and Engineering will lead their teams by establishing and executing a vision for delivering information and analytics platforms and solutions to the business's key stakeholders, including internal staff, partners, and clients.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Establish data-driven KPI and Operational Performance dashboard across the enterprise.
  • Lead the BI competence center/COE/Claude skills for accelerating visualization creation.

    • Expertise in the AI focused tech stack including SQL and relational databases, Python, RAGs, knowledge graphs, learning systems, unstructured datasets and document stores, LLMOps and ML Ops tools, agentic based AI frameworks, multimodal AI.
    • Oversee the transition of models from prototypes to reliable production environments. Understand the end-to-end lifecycle of an ML model, including continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) for data. Continuously monitor models for reliability, latency, data drift, and bias.
  • Data security framework - GRC
    • Quarterly user access attestation
    • Row level security and role-based access to the data
    • Encryption where applicable
    • Maintain HIPAA compliance with the data/BI applications
    • Maintain cloud and infrastructure security of the data/BI/RAG platform
  • Data Engineering
    • Manage the data warehouse environment
    • Manage the ETL jobs
    • Manage the Power BI environment

This role is responsible for:

QualificationsEducation/Licenses
  • A degree in computer science, mathematics, operations, management, or a related field is required
  • MBA or a master's degree would be a significant plus
Work Experience
  • 15+ years (and 3+ years in a leadership capacity) of progressively responsible experience in a directly related area, during which both professional capabilities have been clearly demonstrated
  • Industry/domain skills in the healthcare industry will be a plus
  • BI/Data Analytics related skills:
    • Thought leadership on advancing BI/DA within the organization
    • Expertise/experience in the use of BI/Data Analytics platform
    • Data modeling - logical and physical; working knowledge of multidimensional data modeling, such as star schemas, snowflakes, denormalized models, and handling "slow-changing" dimensions/attributes
    • Some experience in data science, statistical analysis, data mining, and predictive algorithms, including POC development
  • Experience and understanding of a wide variety of analytical processes
  • Experience with AI generated code, specifically Claude
  • Experience with RAG and Machine Learning applications
  • Azure cloud and functions experience, including microservices architecture

Pay

$160,000.00 - $190,000.00   plus bonus

Working Conditions
  • Centria's office hours are Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM - 6:00 PM.
  • Additional time or occasional shifts in schedule may be required as dictated by the needs of the business for projects and meetings.
Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, physical requirements such as bending, reaching, lifting, pushing, or pulling up to 30 pounds may be required. This role will require sitting most of the day as well as walking and standing periodically. This role may require close visual acuity on computer screens or monitors and the ability to analyze data and figures on a screen.
