Work Arrangement: This role is categorized as onsite. The successful candidate is expected to report to their assigned GM worksite, five days per week and to respond to the site in the event of an emergency after hours, on weekend or holidays.
The Role:
FWA Paint Shop is seeking a highly talented Vision Systems/DLA Analyst interested in developing, maintaining and supporting global machine vision applications and standards for manufacturing automation systems. Subject Expert for applying data analytics techniques to solve complex Manufacturing business problems with available data and analytics tools while coordinating Controls Engineers, Skilled Trades & IT. Supports critical business operations and decision making through creation of high quality and automated reports, business intelligence and business process visualization.
What You'll Do (Responsibilities):
  • Review manufacturing system requirements and design robust vision applications.
  • Interface with vision equipment suppliers and vision integration suppliers.
  • Provide vision system hardware and software designs including vision equipment devices, power distribution, I/O networks, software, and cost estimating tools.
  • Ensure vision application designs comply with GCCH, GCCS and Global Robot Standards. Supervise detailed designs by contractors when necessary.
  • Specify vision system components, functional requirements and integration methods.
  • Provide on-site technical support for: plant vision issues, new equipment startup, troubleshooting, reprogramming, diagnostic equipment usage, and interfacing with skilled trades personnel.
  • Provide training and documentation for Controls Engineers and Skilled Trades.
  • Collaborate with business, IT, Automation and analytics community to capture, prioritize and document data, analytic requirements and drive measurable results.
  • Pull data using existing reporting tools, Analyze & Perform testing and validation of data sets.
  • Analyze large amounts of information to discover trends and patterns.
  • Determine the meaning of data and explain how various teams and leaders can leverage it to improve and streamline their processes.

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications):
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in engineering or related field or specialization in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, and information technology or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with the design and build of machine vision in manufacturing systems, including equipment selection and lighting techniques.
  • Exposure to PLCs

  • Experience in Manufacturing Engineering process studies, Industrial engineering, Plant floors systems knowledge will be an added advantage
  • Hands-on experience in Analytics tools, Throughput improvements will be added advantage
