Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is looking to add an Electronics Engineer Manager 2 Functional Homeroom Manager to join our team in Melbourne. The candidate should be a self-starter with familiarity working in an Integrated Product Team construct.

This role will be a combination of 80% technical SOW and 20% functional homeroom manager (FHR) SOW.

Essential Functions:

  • Providing functional leadership and direction to a section of multi-disciplined engineers (typically 10-15 personnel) including building an engineering culture that empowers employees, establishes personal and team accountability, motivates team performance, encourages development, and supports innovation.
  • Coordinating with programs to ensure appropriate staffing/de-staffing actions are developed and executed relative to their section, and managing employee movement between programs.
  • Managing team member performance, creating and delivering performance evaluations, overseeing the salary review process, and supervising employee development and mentoring efforts.
  • Special assignments/data calls in support of the Center of Technical Excellence (CoTE)
  • Driving compliance with policies and procedures including timecards, safety, security, property management, training, and configuration control.
  • In addition to performing a functional statement of work (SOW), the Section Manager will be responsible for development, production and field support of Avionics equipment which may include Flight Avionics, Communication, Navigation, Data Link, Computer, Network, Antenna, and other Sensor sub-systems.
  • This position requires the selected candidate to have technical SOW on the Program.
  • The selected candidate will be required to work full-time, on-site at our facility. There is no remote / hybrid / telework available for this position. Travel up to 20% may be required.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline and 9 years of related engineering experience; OR a Master's degree in a STEM discipline and 7 years of related engineering experience; OR a PhD in a STEM discipline and 5 years of related engineering experience.
  • Experience with project planning, cost, schedule & performance, including Earned -Value and performance measurement baseline concepts
  • Experience leading a team or project
  • Active in-Scope, DoD Top Secret clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated success in leading, collaborating, and developing cross functional teams of varying degrees of skill on complex technical projects including some or all aspects of engineering project life cycle
  • Cost Account Management experience
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills to include written and verbal communication
  • Prior functional management experience including mentoring/coaching, and solving staff and resource issues
  • Currently briefed to and supporting applicable program statement of work.
Primary Level Salary Range: $139,100.00 - $208,700.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
