Data Engineer II
Location: Chattanooga, TN
Schedule: Hybrid | 4 Days Onsite, 1 Day Remote

We are seeking a motivated and skilled Data Engineer to join our growing technology team! In this role, you will help design, develop, and maintain data solutions that support business intelligence, reporting, analytics, and operational decision-making across the organization.
What You'll Do
  • Develop, maintain, and optimize ETL pipelines that integrate data from multiple internal and external sources.
  • Build scalable and efficient solutions for data processing, transformation, and storage.
  • Partner with business stakeholders and cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver data-driven solutions.
  • Support the development and maintenance of dashboards, reports, and visualizations that provide actionable business insights.
  • Validate, monitor, and maintain data quality throughout the data lifecycle.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve data pipeline and performance issues to ensure reliability and efficiency.
  • Work with APIs and third-party systems to support seamless data integration.
  • Contribute to documentation, best practices, and knowledge-sharing initiatives across the team.
  • Stay current on emerging technologies, tools, and trends in data engineering, analytics, and artificial intelligence.
What We're Looking For
The ideal candidate will have experience building and maintaining ETL pipelines, working with cloud-based data platforms, and creating scalable solutions that transform complex data into actionable insights. You will collaborate with stakeholders across multiple departments to ensure data accessibility, reliability, and quality while contributing to user-facing dashboards and reporting solutions.
  • Experience developing and maintaining ETL pipelines using tools such as Databricks, Apache Spark, Airflow, or similar technologies.
  • Proficiency in SQL and Python for data transformation, automation, and analysis.
  • Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts, relational databases, and data modeling principles.
  • Experience with business intelligence and visualization platforms such as Tableau or Power BI.
  • Familiarity with Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) practices in a data environment.
  • Working knowledge of cloud platforms, with a preference for Microsoft Azure technologies.
  • Understanding of Artificial Intelligence (AI), Generative AI, and Machine Learning concepts, including leveraging AI-powered tools to improve analytics, automation, reporting, and operational efficiency.
  • Experience integrating data through APIs and external system connections.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across technical and non-technical teams.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to delivering accurate, high-quality solutions.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 2-4 years of experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar data-focused technical role.
  • Experience working within cloud-based data environments and modern analytics platforms preferred.
Annual salary range: $90,000 - $110,000, based on experience, technical skills, and overall qualifications.
