Job Scope
This is an Entry Level position. Employee who is interested working in the field on medical devices. The Associate Engineer will be performing basic preventive maintenance and retrofit installation.
*Candidate can live in New Jersey or Pennsylvania area*
Key Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide service and support to internal and external customers with regard to instrument maintenance and retrofit installation.
    • Receive information from manager, technical service and logistics teams concerning customer instrumentation
    • Perform instrument preventative maintenance
    • Perform instrument retrofit installation
    • Assist with instrument repairs on occasion
    • Read and understand the GOP procedures required for GMP compliance
    • Assist FSE's with other assignments as required for effective support of field systems and activities at customer site(s)
    • Complete Field Service Report's according to process
  • Maintain Good Work Habits
    • Follow DiaSorin established compliance procedures designed to ensure that all regulatory requirements are met; activities may include audits, documentation, and the understanding of the requirements of agencies such as OSHA, EPA, NRC, and FDA
    • Understand and apply the appropriate procedures pertaining to the work to be performed
    • Timecards completed daily
    • Service reports completed daily
    • Service software synch twice daily
    • Expense reports completed weekly
    • Timely and accurate return of used spare parts
    • On-time completion of all Smart Training and Technical Requirements
    • Prompt response to all forms of communication from headquarters, customers and co-workers.
    • Manage and Maintain assigned company assets (i.e. parts inventory, tools, communication and computing devices, vehicles)
  • Perform work in a safe manner consistent with DiaSorin's health, safety and environmental policies and assume responsibility for personal safety and that of co-workers to result in a safe work environment for all employees and the protection of the environment and the community at large.
    • Follow DiaSorin's established procedures for the safe handling and disposal of hazardous, radioactive, laser sources and infectious material.
    • Participate in DiaSorin's safety training programs and demonstrated competency in the use of Material Safety Data Sheets, chemical labeling, corporate emergency response procedures, and DiaSorin's health, safety, and environmental policies.
    • Be aware of and understand the hazards specific to your work area and follow appropriate safety precautions necessary to control them.
    • Adheres to EHS policy
  • Participate in training processes that are designed to develop highly skilled workforce capable of delivering results consistent with corporate goals and objectives.
    • Participate in formal and informal training required to increase skills to meet work expectations.
    • Is prepared for training activity, completing all prerequisite activity on time.
    • Successfully pass annual corporate assessments.
    • Responds positively to work instructions by applying acquired subject matter promptly.

Education, Experience, and Qualifications
  • AA Degree in Laboratory Technician, Electronics, Engineering Technician or equivalent
  • No field service experience required
  • Must have a valid driver's license in good standing
  • Must be able to meet all working conditions
  • Must have the ability to manage travel, expenses and reimbursements
  • Proven ability to consistently meet all requirements
  • Eager to Learn and listen to feedback
  • Be a self-starter and require minimal supervision assigned field tasks
  • Excellent interpersonal/communication skills and the ability to handle multiple activities in a professional manner
  • Quality and detail orientated
  • Knowledge of and skill in using Microsoft Office applications
  • Knowledge and understanding of current technology tools. I.e. Phone, iPad, PC
  • Ability to do preventative maintenance with reference to manufacturer's manual and with minimal support.
  • Ability to learn and apply good manufacturing practices (cGMPs) and good laboratory practices and techniques.
  • Basic Knowledge and understanding of electronics and medical terminology.

The hiring range for this position is $65,000 - $70,000 annually. The salary range for this role represents the numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to, educations, skills, work experience, certifications, etc. Beyond base salary, Diasorin offers a competitive rewards package focused on your overall well-being.
