Genesis10 is currently seeking a Principal Digital Product Engineer for a Hybrid position with a Regional Health Insurance Provider located in Eagan, MN. This is a 6+ month contract to hire opportunity. Compensation: $95.60 - $105.60 per hour, W2, based on qualifications Position Overview: This is a hands-on technical leadership role responsible for the architecture, design, development, and delivery of modern enterprise applications, APIs, and cloud-native solutions. As part of a major enterprise technology modernization, the Principal Engineer will help build the next generation of scalable applications, serving as a technical leader while remaining actively involved in coding and modern software development practices. The role requires working closely with Architects, Product Owners, and Data Engineers to establish engineering standards and deliver scalable cloud-based applications. Key Responsibilities: Lead the architecture, design, development, and delivery of enterprise software applications and cloud-native solutions Build and support enterprise APIs, microservices, and application integration services Design scalable cloud-native solutions utilizing AWS services and modern engineering practices Establish engineering standards, reusable application patterns, and software development best practices Serve as the technical leader on complex initiatives while remaining actively involved in application development Mentor engineers through technical leadership rather than direct people management Guide DevOps practices including CI/CD, automation, infrastructure, and cloud engineering Collaborate with Product Owners, Architects, Data Engineers, and business stakeholders to deliver enterprise solutions Evaluate emerging technologies and improve engineering effectiveness across the organization Primary Requirements: 7+ years of professional software engineering experience Recent experience developing enterprise cloud applications Strong Java development experience JavaScript and/or TypeScript Experience building REST APIs and microservices AWS or comparable cloud platform experience Experience leading technical initiatives without direct people management responsibilities Strong communication, collaboration, mentoring, and problem-solving skills Professional experience using AI-assisted development tools (GitHub Copilot, Microsoft Copilot, Claude, ChatGPT) Desired Skills: Application Development: Node.js, React, Angular, or similar UI framework, Event-driven application architecture Cloud & DevOps: AWS (Lambda, API Gateway, ECS/EKS, S3, CloudWatch, IAM), CI/CD pipelines, GitHub Actions, GitLab, Jenkins, Docker or Kubernetes, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform preferred) Enterprise Integration: Enterprise API development, System interoperability, Event streaming technologies (Kafka or similar preferred) Data & Platform Knowledge: SQL, Modern data engineering concepts, ETL/ELT concepts, Databricks and Spark, Relational and NoSQL databases, Data modeling concepts Healthcare or health insurance experience Only candidates available and ready to work directly as Genesis10 employees will be considered for this position.
