Job Summary:
RIT Solutions, Inc. is seeking a versatile Data Engineer to join their Data Platform team in a contractor capacity. This role involves building production-grade data pipelines, supporting actuarial workflows, and collaborating with various teams to ensure data accuracy and reliability.
Responsibilities:
• Build and maintain ingestion and transformation pipelines using Python, SQL, and orchestration tools
• Implement schema enforcement, data quality checks, and operational monitoring
• Support Actuarial data needs, including building or modifying datasets used for analysis and modeling
• Participate in L1/L2 triage of platform issues, including job failures, data anomalies, and service reliability
• Address ad hoc engineering tickets, including enhancements, bug fixes, and tactical data requests
• Collaborate with platform engineers, analytics teams, and business stakeholders to ensure timely, accurate data delivery
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, test coverage, and documentation practices
Qualifications:
Required:
• 3+ years of experience in data engineering or related fields
• Strong proficiency in Python and SQL
• Hands-on experience with tools such as Airflow, dbt, AWS EMR, Athena, and modern data formats (e.g., Parquet, Hudi)
• Familiarity with monitoring and troubleshooting data pipelines and production jobs
