Data Collector V - Field Leader Job Description: * Provides oversight to employees assigned to collect data on a variety of test programs to include highly complex systems * Provides technical guidance, assistance, and on-the-job training and closely monitors workload * Reviews work in progress for quality, completeness, and accuracy daily and initials completed work * Trains employees on specific tasks and job techniques and makes available written instructions, reference materials, and supplies * Maintains data files, supplies, manuals, and electronic data forms for each test project * Recognized basic problems in data collection techniques and recommends solutions * Determines and assures that the test data meet project requirements as they relate to the following: evaluation of technical manuals, identification and adequate description of potential critical problems to ensure further investigation and corrective action is taken * Determines whether the repair parts, tools, and support equipment are adequate and necessary to support the overall system and design for maintainability * Support Government test sector/engineer/analyst by coordinating the required data collection support and by performing field work * Assist Government Data Quality personnel * Use web-enabled data management systems such as ODIN, ATOM, and VDLS * Use application tools such as Cognos to query databases and produce reports based on user requirements * Provide technical guidance, assistance, and closely monitor and direct subordinates. Maintains current files, supplies, manuals and data forms for each test project Requirements: * Will have a GPA of 2.5 or higher in each individual discipline of math and science and a GPA of 3.0 or higher in High School English or a GPA of 2.5 or higher in College English from either an accredited high school or university (the minimum high school diploma will not be waived for an equivalency degree). * Will have six (6) years' experience in performing data collection of military/non- military equipment and associated maintenance concepts; or an Associate's Degree in a technical area and four (4) years' experience in performing data collection of military/non- military equipment and associated maintenance concepts; or a Bachelor's Degree in a technical area and two (2) years' experience in performing data collection of military/non- military equipment and associated maintenance concepts * TRAVEL - May be required to travel on a short notice basis, to CONUS and OCONUS locations * PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT (PPE) - May be required to wear the appropriate PPE * RESPIRATORS - May be required to wear a respirator to protect from potential respiratory hazards. Personnel issued respirators must be medically cleared and cleanly shaven * MEDICAL EXAMINATIONS * Must be physically able to perform work in conditions of extreme heat and cold, high humidity, blowing sand and dust, working in confined spaces and at heights, and/or walking distances over unimproved terrain while wearing personal protective equipment * May be required to obtain a copy of the following exams and tests and provide to the company in some cases prior to starting work in certain areas * May be required a screening when working in certain specialized areas these screenings could be a urinalysis and/or in vivo lung scan and laser eye examinations on a random basis * Employees who support the firing missions that are exposed to loud noises which exceed the levels identified in 29 CFR Part 1910.95 shall receive the Audiometric Test * Must maintain a 100% drug-free working environment * May be required to operate motor vehicles in accordance with APGR 190-4, APGR 750-2, AR 190-5, AR 385-55, and AR 600-55. * All personnel operating Government vehicles, and material handling equipment, shall be licensed in accordance with APGR 385-4, AR 600-55 and Technical Bulleting (TB) 600-2. To operate commercial and administrative (non-tactical) vehicles over 10,000 pounds gross vehicle weight, contractor employees shall possess an OF 346 Operators Permit, US Army Motor Vehicle Operator's Identification Card. To obtain an OF 346, employees must have a valid state driver's license and successfully complete a Defensive Driver's Course. * May be required to have a medical exam or test prior to working in particular areas * Required to submit to a urinalysis and/or in vivo lung scan and laser eye examination on a random basis * Those supporting the firing mission are exposed to loud noises which exceed the levels identified in 29 CFR Part 1910.95, require pre-placement, annual and operational audiometric tests * Must take precautions to avoid contracting Lyme's Disease when working in grassy and wooded areas on APG * Must be U.S. citizen and possess a high school diploma * Able to speak, read, write, and understand English proficiently and be able to clearly and concisely communicate both orally and in writing * Must be proficient in the use of computers and MS Office Software * Must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance and CAC * Must possess a valid state driver's license; may be required to be licensed to operate Government provided vehicles Interested candidates should submit the following: * Resume * Cover Letter covering, at a minimum, the following: * Why you want this position * What qualifies you for this position * What sets you apart from other possible applicants * Describe your leadership style * Give real life examples where you have employed your leadership style
