Position Summary

We are seeking a results-driven Sales & Marketing Manager to support the Director of Marketing in implementing marketing strategies and driving ticket sales for four prominent venues in Owensboro, Kentucky: the Owensboro Convention Center, the Owensboro Sportscenter, the Bluegrass Fieldhouse, and the RiverPark Center. The Marketing & Sales Manager will play a critical role in executing marketing campaigns, engaging with customers, and driving revenue growth through targeted sales initiatives. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the success of our venues and play a key role in delivering memorable experiences to our audiences.

This role will pay a salary of $47,000 to $52,000.

About the Venue

The RiverPark Center is a nonprofit regional performing arts and civic center that has entertained and educated over 4 million people-including 900,000 children-since the opening year in 1992. RiverPark Center has nearly 100,000 square feet, including a state-of-the-art 1,479-seat auditorium (Cannon Hall), the multi-purpose Jody Berry Cabaret Theatre, an extraordinary outdoor entertainment patio (The BB&T Plaza) on the banks of the beautiful Ohio River, event spaces and meeting rooms, and a bricked center courtyard (Atmos Courtyard).

Responsibilities
  • Assist in the development and implementation of comprehensive marketing plans for each venue, collaborating with the Director of Marketing and internal stakeholders to align strategies with business objectives and revenue goals.
  • Execute marketing campaigns across various channels, including digital marketing, social media, email marketing, traditional advertising, and grassroots promotions, to drive ticket sales and event attendance for a diverse range of events.
  • Manage the sales process for the RiverPark Center's facility rentals, including prospecting, lead generation, customer acquisition, conducting venue tours, and conversion.
  • Collaborate with venue management, event promoters, and external partners to identify sales opportunities, develop promotional offers, and implement sales strategies to maximize ticket sales and revenue opportunities.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to clients, event organizers, and ticket buyers, addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and ensuring a seamless ticket purchasing experience from start to finish.
  • Utilize CRM systems and sales analytics tools to track leads, monitor sales pipeline, and analyze sales performance data, providing regular reports and insights to inform decision-making and optimize sales strategies.
  • Support the Director of Marketing in managing marketing budgets, tracking expenses, and evaluating ROI for marketing and sales initiatives, ensuring efficient use of resources and alignment with financial objectives.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, market dynamics, and competitor activities to identify opportunities for innovation, differentiation, and revenue growth in the entertainment and events industry.
  • Collaborate with the team to create compelling content, promotional materials, and sales collateral to support marketing and sales efforts and enhance brand visibility and engagement.
  • Represent the venues at industry events, networking functions, and community engagements to build relationships with potential clients, sponsors, and partners and promote the venues as premier destinations for live events and entertainment.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree or better from an accredited college or university with major coursework in marketing, public relations, business administration, or other related fields.
  • 3-5 years of increasingly responsible experience in sales and/or marketing required, preferably with a sports facility, convention center, performing arts facility or other multi-purpose public assembly facility
  • Familiarity with live event marketing, venue operations, or the entertainment, sports, tourism, or hospitality industries.
  • Ability to manage multiple marketing campaigns and sponsorship activations simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Photography and videography experience for creating promotional content for use across social media platforms, digital advertising, websites, and other marketing channels.
  • Experience managing and optimizing paid media campaigns across digital and social media platforms, including audience targeting and performance reporting.
  • Knowledge of website content management systems (CMS) and basic web content editing.
  • Computer efficiency with core programs such as Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with graphic design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator) and/or similar design platforms (such as Canva)
  • Knowledge of Public Relations
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be able to project a professional manner and appearance, and communicate effectively with clients, senior management, staff and the general public
  • Experience coordinating media buys and working with advertising vendors, publications, radio, television, and digital media partners a plus
