Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Group Development
  • Develop the long-term vision, strategy, and operational framework for the Data Center Group.
  • Establish organizational structure, roles, staffing plans, and development pathways for team members.
  • Define and implement standards for scheduling, commissioning, quality control, and MEP coordination.
  • Create and maintain relationships with key clients, developers, design partners, and trade partners.
  • Support executive leadership with market intelligence and long-term growth planning.

Mission Critical Project Oversight
  • Provide senior oversight to multiple mission-critical and data center projects.
  • Identify key risk items and develop plans to mitigate those risks.
  • Guide project teams in resolving design and constructability challenges.
  • Monitor budgets, forecasts, and project profitability.
  • Ensure proper integration of complex MEP systems and commissioning processes.

Safety, Quality, & Operational Excellence
  • Champion a culture of safety across all mission-critical operations.
  • Establish and enforce quality and commissioning standards.
  • Conduct periodic reviews of project progress, safety compliance, and schedule adherence.
  • Ensure readiness for commissioning activities and turnover.

Client Engagement & Business Development
  • Serve as a senior-level representative for clients and stakeholders.
  • Ability to evaluate opportunities and make "Go/No Go" recommendations on limited information
  • Support pursuits, proposals, and project interviews.
  • Provide input on preconstruction strategies and procurement planning.
  • Foster client trust through consistent communication and project delivery.

Team Leadership & Staff Development
  • Recruit, mentor, and develop project managers, engineers, and field leaders.
  • Promote a collaborative team environment aligned with BL Harbert values.
  • Provide performance oversight, coaching, and succession planning.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related discipline preferred.
  • 12-15+ years of experience in construction management with mission-critical experience.
  • Proven leadership building or expanding a mission-critical construction group.
  • Extensive understanding of MEP systems and commissioning processes.
  • Strong business acumen including P&L oversight and forecasting.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.

This position may require site visits to active construction environments including walking, standing, navigating uneven surfaces, and exposure to varying weather conditions. Additional accommodations may be provided as needed.
