Qualifications:

Actual salary will be based on a variety of factors, including shift, location, experience, skill set, performance, licensure and certification, and business needs. The range for this position in other geographic locations may differ. Certain positions may also be eligible for variable incentive compensation, such as bonuses or commissions, that is not included in the base pay.

What is the ATC?

Our Advanced Technology Center (ATC) is like no other testing and research lab. We call it an ecosystem that is front ended by our WWT Platform (Website). It's the place engineers and architects go for exclusive resources, guidance and tools. In the ATC, we provide Labs, Learning Paths, Cyber Range, Proof of Concepts, Lab Hosting Programs, and WWT Research. These offerings are meant for our Customers, Partners, and Internal Employees who need training and education on the latest and greatest solutions across all technology domains.

What will you be doing?

The ATC Data Center Operations Administrator I provides hands on support for all users and owners of physical equipment within the ATC data centers, and reports to the Data Center Operations Manager. Hands on support includes physical install, troubleshooting, smart hands, and asset management. The Administrator I also handles external customer-facing cases. The Administrator I is responsible for direct customer communication and action working around established SLAs. Administrator I will assist with advanced hardware and software troubleshooting as well as documentation and decommissioning of completed projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Serves as point of escalation for ATC Data Center Operations Technicians
  • Serves as point of contact for large lab builds to direct other DC Ops team members.
  • Multi-task and prioritize workload independently
  • Demonstrating a solid understanding of troubleshooting and response procedures associated with all alarms, alerts, and notifications from all monitoring systems.
  • Troubleshoot LAN connectivity issues and reestablish remote access to customer configurations utilizing SSH, Terminal Services/Remote Desktop Services
  • Contributes to process improvements and documentation updates
  • Works with Data Center Operations Team Lead and Management to onboard and train Technicians
  • Rack, Stack, cabling, labeling, asset management, and integration of devices within the ATC data centers
  • Understand the procedures for providing connectivity including basic port enabling, cross-connecting, and the other types of connectivity available.
  • Handle tickets, read cable maps, and execute additional tasks per written instructions
  • Ability to effectively communicate well with both internal and external customers
  • Working with administrators, engineers, and architects to resolve complex technical issues.
  • Performs configuration of network devices and servers within the ATC Datacenters
  • Installation of Windows, Linux, or other operating systems as needed
  • Simple operating systems administration to include troubleshooting of login, password and connectivity issues
  • Communicates directly with ATC architects and engineers, ATC partners, and any other consumers of ATC services regarding tasks and any other errors encountered during task execution
  • Provides Remote hands support for users and owners of physical equipment within the ATC Datacenters
  • Assists and escorts third party contractors and guests with on-site access
  • Assists with datacenter facility operations, maintenance, and housekeeping to maintain a state of "tour readiness"
  • Daily walkthroughs of our data centers to ensure the environment and facilities are operating at efficient levels
  • Work in data center environment with standard hot and cold aisle containment
  • Monitors and responds to critical loss of connectivity to customer environments, possibly during off hours.
  • Work directly with external customers to resolve cases
  • Monitoring a case queue to ensure customer satisfaction and SLA's are met.
  • Create and configure user/admin accounts for access to the lab environments.
  • Create, update, and resolve tickets in a Jira ticketing system.
