Job Description

As Senior Director, Data Center Training, you will own the global training strategy, operating model, and execution framework that prepares Oracle Cloud Infrastructure data center teams to operate safely, reliably, and consistently at scale. This role is accountable for building training standards that support technical qualification, site readiness, maintenance execution, emergency response, safety, compliance, and leadership development across missionโ€‘critical environments.

You will lead training leaders, program managers, instructional designers, technical SMEs, site operations partners, and vendor contributors to deliver a scalable learning ecosystem for new sites, expanding campuses, and steadyโ€‘state operations. The role requires seniorโ€‘level judgment, strong operational credibility, and the ability to turn field experience into repeatable standards that improve uptime, safety, audit readiness, and team capability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Define and lead the enterprise training strategy for OCI data center operations, facilities, deployment, reliability, and site support functions.
  • Build and govern roleโ€‘based training paths for technicians, engineers, managers, site leaders, deployment teams, and support functions.
  • Lead a distributed training organization through managers and senior program leaders, including staffing, coaching, performance management, and capability planning.
  • Establish qualification standards for technical operations, MOP/SOP/EOP execution, incident response, switching, maintenance, safety, and operational readiness.
  • Partner with Data Center Operations, Engineering, Reliability, Construction, Commissioning, Site Deployment, Safety, Security, and HR to align training with operating risks and business priorities.
  • Develop scalable curricula, labs, simulations, field qualification records, trainโ€‘theโ€‘trainer models, and recurring proficiency checks.
  • Ensure training content reflects current procedures, equipment configurations, lessons learned, audit findings, safety expectations, and operational standards.
  • Create training governance cadences, dashboards, KPIs, completion tracking, and executive reporting for workforce readiness.
  • Drive training readiness for new site launches, expansions, critical remediation programs, and major operational changes.
  • Identify capability gaps across regions and partner with functional leaders to prioritize corrective training, coaching, and standardization.
  • Oversee vendor and thirdโ€‘party training quality where external partners support technical instruction, certification, or workforce onboarding.
  • Promote a culture of operational discipline, continuous learning, safety, and accountability across the data center organization.
Ideal Candidate Profile
  • 15+ years of experience in technical training, data center operations, missionโ€‘critical facilities, reliability, engineering, construction operations, or workforce development.
  • 7+ years of people leadership experience, including leading managers, senior program leaders, or distributed technical training teams.
  • Experience building enterprise training programs for hyperscale data centers, utilities, industrial operations, critical facilities, manufacturing, military, or other highโ€‘reliability environments.
  • Strong understanding of data center electrical, mechanical, controls, safety, maintenance, and emergency response workflows.
  • Demonstrated ability to build operating models, governance mechanisms, dashboards, training standards, and executiveโ€‘ready reporting.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, operations, education, organizational development, facilities management, or equivalent practical experience.
Skills and Competencies

Physical Demands / Work Environment

This role operates across office, remote collaboration, training, and active data center environments. The position may require travel to data center campuses, training sites, vendor facilities, and operational readiness reviews. Site visits may involve walking large facilities, standing for extended periods, using stairs, and following all safety, PPE, security, and accessโ€‘control requirements.

US: Hiring Range in USD from $146,300 to $306,400 per annum. May be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.
