Job description

We are currently expanding our infrastructure management team and are looking for proven technology managers with experience in people management, strong technical understanding and the drive and vision to take Amazon.com Data Center Operations to the next level. The successful candidate will have experience managing people with varying skillsets, devising strategies, mentoring people in all levels, sponsoring projects, and proposing technical solutions.
This role supports data centers in various operational stages. The position may be assigned to a facility still under development, which could require travel to established locations for training until your designated site becomes fully operational

Candidates must be able to travel (over 50 miles) or commute (less than 50 miles) to active data center sites as required by business needs.
This position requires that the candidate selected be a US citizen and currently possess and maintain an active Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility. The position further requires that, after start, the selected candidate obtain and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph and satisfy other security related requirements. This position requires the candidate to opt into a commensurate clearance for each government agency for which they perform AWS work.
Key job responsibilities
- Prioritize and assign trouble tickets to data center technicians and operators
- Routinely review ticket queue for large events and address accordingly
- Coordinate change management resources
- Guide, train and educate data staff on the best practices related to all service owner issues
- Manage and deliver mid-size projects
- Recommend, document, and oversee policies and procedures to meet industry best practices and to meet required SLAs
- Manage a diverse team of data technicians with varying skills
- Provide weekly report to the data center manager
- Maintain the on-call schedule coordinating absence and vacations
- Recruit and train data technicians to ensure appropriate staffing levels
- Host weekly staff meetings
- Write and deliver performance reviews for staff
