Job description

ABOUT HUT 8

Imagine the ultimate destination for those who want to work at the cutting edge of technology, energy, and infrastructure. Hut 8 is on a mission to build and operate some of the world's largest data centers for next-generation computing workloads, including AI, Colocation, Cloud, and Bitcoin Mining. We are proud to offer interesting and challenging opportunities for individuals who want to build teams, solve problems, and make an impact from day one. If you're an ambitious individual looking for a career that is as rewarding as it is challenging, you've come to the right place.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Role Overview

Own customer-facing project management from lease execution through Ready for Service (RFS), serving as the central link among the customer, Hut 8 Commercialization, Asset Management, Engineering and Construction, and the general contractor. The role covers the development, construction, commissioning, and delivery period; at RFS and project closeout, customer and site responsibility transitions to Asset Management.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Serve as the customer's primary point of contact for all design, engineering, construction, commissioning, and delivery matters through RFS.
  • Act as the day-to-day integrator across the customer, internal Hut 8 teams, and the general contractor.
  • Maintain ground-level knowledge of the project — design development, construction sequencing, RFIs, submittals, schedule dependencies, open issues, and change orders — by working directly with Hut 8 and contractor engineering and construction teams.
  • Own customer-initiated change requests end to end: intake, clarification, technical scoping, internal coordination, cost and schedule impact assessment, pricing, customer approval, implementation tracking, and closeout.
  • Evaluate and communicate the downstream effects of proposed changes on cost, schedule, design, procurement, commissioning, and contractual commitments.
  • Ensure change orders and customer requests follow the processes established under applicable EPC, general contractor, engineering, and lease arrangements; escalate deviations to the appropriate internal owner.
  • Translate customer requirements into clear direction for internal and contractor teams, and translate technical and schedule information into clear updates for the customer and Commercialization leadership.
  • Provide the customer with regular, accurate updates on design, engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, schedule, open decisions, and risks.
  • Prepare for and lead recurring customer project meetings, maintaining action logs, decision records, and issue trackers with accountability for follow-ups.
  • Maintain a single source of truth for customer requests, project commitments, lease-driven delivery obligations, amendments, change-order history, approvals, and communications.
  • Identify and escalate issues that could affect RFS, customer expectations, commercial terms, project economics, or long-term operability of the asset.
  • Coordinate project closeout and formal handoff to Asset Management at RFS, including final change-order documentation, delivery of project records, confirmation of open items, and transfer of customer, contractual, and operational history.
  • Following handoff, transition to the next development or construction-stage customer project.

ABOUT YOU

  • 5 to 10 years of experience in project management, construction management, owner's representation, or customer delivery, including direct experience within data center environments.
  • Strong working knowledge of EPC and general contractor processes, including design development, RFIs, submittals, procurement, construction sequencing, commissioning, change management, and project closeout.
  • Able to work in the details with engineering and construction teams while communicating clearly at the executive level with customers and internal leadership.
  • Experience assessing and communicating the cost, schedule, technical, contractual, and operational impacts of proposed project changes.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to manage senior customer stakeholders and translate between technical and commercial audiences.
  • Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple decisions, timelines, approvals, and workstreams across one or more active projects.
  • Proactive in identifying risks early, driving cross-functional resolution, and maintaining accountability across internal and external teams.
  • Familiarity with data center leases, EPC agreements, construction contracts, and change orders strongly preferred.

ABOUT THE WORK ENVIRONMENT
