Job Description
Scope of work:
The Data Center Infrastructure Architect is responsible for the roadmap and design of all Layer 1 systems including, but not limited to,cabling infrastructure, environmental, electrical, and mechanical systems, out of band management systems, and others, that relate to information technology, its facilities, and data centers both shoreside and shipboard. The Data Center Infrastructure Engineer Architect will also play a critical role in efforts related to the growth, design, and engineering of RCL's IT facilities both shoreside and shipboard. This includes the re-design and engineering of both current and future IT facilities. The architect also mentors and guides the level I, II, III engineers engaged in the monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintaining of the systems referenced above.
Required skills/competencies:
    Designs and specifies the increasingly complex Layer 1 systems that touch and affect all areas of IT to ensure continuity of service for end users.
    Responsible for the operation, maintenance, and repair of all Layer 1 equipment and systems that are required to provide acceptable service levels   for the     business.
    Is on call 24x7 to handle emergencies or outages as the need arises.
    Monitors a regular schedule for the preventive maintenance of previously mentioned systems.
    Works closely with the IT Project Management Office and Newbuild departments on planning, designing, and engineering new IT projects for shoreside and shipboard.
    Continues to update documentation of all mentioned systems that are in place as well and any new systems that come online.
    Owns relationships with the vendors that maintain, service, and sells existing systems, as well as relationships with outside architects and engineers for future systems.
    Recommends measures to improve work procedures and employee performance to increase quality of services and job safety.
    Establishes standards to be maintained across the global data center environment.


Qualifications
Required Certifications:
Certifications: Bicsi, Cisco or similar professional certifications.
On the Job Experience: 7 to 10 years of experience with Layer 1 systems.
Preferred Education:
Education: Successful completion of a Bachelor's Degree.
