This role is responsible for electrical design, technical oversight, reliability, capacity management, product selection, and continuous innovation of our rapidly expanding data center footprint.The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in electrical distribution systems, critical power infrastructure, equipment installation and testing, industry standards, and best practices related to data center design and construction. You will act as the primary technical authority on data center electrical systems, providing technical leadership and recommendations to support current operations as well as future expansion initiatives.This position plays a critical role in maintaining uptime, supporting infrastructure growth, and driving technical excellence across the data center portfolio. As the electrical SME, you will be engaged in all aspects of data center infrastructure including design, deployment, optimization, and lifecycle management. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to support infrastructure strategy, equipment evaluation, product selection, and deployment initiatives while ensuring the highest levels of reliability, scalability, and operational efficiency.**Work Location:*** If you reside outside of San Antonio, TX you may work fully remote.* If you reside in San Antonio, TX we would like to work a hybrid in office/remote schedule.**Duties and Responsibilities:*** Serve as the primary technical authority for electrical infrastructure within the data center environment.* Provide engineering leadership and subject matter expertise for critical electrical systems including utility infrastructure, switchgear, UPS systems, generators, transformers, PDUs, RPPs, Busway systems, grounding and bonding systems, and BMS/DCIM systems* Lead troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and resolution of electrical infrastructure issues.* Manage electrical capacity planning for existing and future infrastructure growth.* Perform electrical load calculations and power utilization analysis.* Evaluate infrastructure resiliency, redundancy, and operational risk associated with capacity expansion initiatives, providing guidance and recommendations* Define critical electrical equipment specifications and make product recommendations* Develop and review electrical designs, modifications, and infrastructure improvements within operational data center environments.* Review and approve electrical equipment submittals, technical documentation, and infrastructure standards.* Support construction, installation, testing, commissioning, and turnover activities associated with electrical infrastructure projects.* Partner with commissioning teams to validate installation, operation, and performance of electrical systems.* Support maintenance planning and operational readiness activities for critical electrical infrastructure.* Participate in incident response, infrastructure risk reviews, and operational reliability initiatives.* Assist operations teams in troubleshooting equipment failures and anomalies.* Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local electrical codes and regulations.* Maintain adherence to NEC, NFPA, IEEE, and mission-critical operational standards.* Support development and continuous improvement of electrical engineering standards, procedures, and best practices within our data centers.* Research and evaluate new technologies, equipment, and infrastructure solutions related to data center electrical systems.* Lead technical decision-making regarding electrical equipment and infrastructure product selection.* Support long-term infrastructure strategy focused on scalability, efficiency, resiliency, and operational excellence.**Qualifications:*** Must be a US Citizen.* 10+ years of experience supporting mission-critical data centers environments.* Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field.* Deep understanding of critical power systems and electrical distribution architecture.* Advanced understanding of electrical drawing packages, equipment diagrams, and associated technical specifications.* Experience with the operation and maintenance of mission-critical electrical infrastructure.* Ability to perform electrical load calculations and capacity analysis.* Deeply familiar with single and three phase systems, from incoming utility down to server input.* Strong knowledge of NEC, NFPA, IEEE, and applicable electrical/building codes.* Experience carrying design concepts through exploration, development, and into deployment.* Experience reading, interpreting, and creating construction drawings, specifications, and submittal documents.* Proficient in AutoCAD and/or Visio.**Key Competencies:*** Critical electrical infrastructure expertise* Data center operational support* AI/HPC electrical infrastructure* Electrical capacity management* Mission-critical systems reliability* Infrastructure risk management* Technical leadership and engineering governance* Electrical troubleshooting and root-cause analysis* Cross-functional coordination and execution#LI-MF1 #LI-remote #LI San Antonio, TXOur compensation reflects the cost of labor across several geographic markets.
