Job Description

This role supports Arvato's newest data center services, delivering critical solutions such as high-security transport, white-glove delivery, and technical support. Our clients include hyperscale data center operators, high-tech freight forwarders, co-location providers, and Software as a Service (SaaS) companies.

The Data Center Installer works inside clients' data centers delivering, positioning, and installing server racks to build their cloud infrastructure. Safety, security and customer service are the priorities. 

YOUR TASKS 

  • Arrive at clients' sites on time, with all required equipment, uniform, procedures and documentation, and PPE. 

  • Unload and unpack with power tools and positioning customers' IT hardware (server racks). 

  • Cable server racks by patching and dressing fibre and copper cables (in certain regions, and training will be provided). 

  • Provide industry-leading customer service levels by always acting professionally with clients and colleagues. 

  • Follow clients' procedures and requirements, including health and safety, and security. 

  • Communicate with colleagues, including managers, planners, team leaders and supervisors, in a consistent, timely, and efficient manner. Reports include arrival times, delays, safety concerns, and completion times. 

  • Complete daily checklists and providing reports on daily activities or tasks, including other general administration tasks.  

  • Any other duties that may be assigned from time to time in line with your skills and competencies. 

  • Schedule Flexibility: Must be available to work a flexible schedule, including varying shifts, weekends, and travel as needed.

Qualifications
  • Ability to lift to 60-80 pounds is required, with occasional exertion up to 110 pounds (using safe lifting methods). 

  • Ability to assist in the transport of server racks (1,600- 1,700 lbs) on wheels using a rack tug.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with high levels of attention to detail. 

  • Valid class driver's license with a good driving record.  

  • Ability to travel for business needs.  

  • Basic experience with hand and power tools. 

  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams and email. 

  • Prior experience with the installation of structured cabling, including fiber and copper is preferred.
