Cabling Technician (Top Secret Cleared)Who We AreThinkTek LLC is a fast-growing Certified SBA 8(a) and Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) specializing in management and technology consulting for Federal Government modernization. We provide tailored solutions in Program & Project Management, Strategic Planning, and IT Operations.Position DescriptionThinkTek is seeking Cabling Installers to support a Department of War client at the Pentagon in the National Capital Region. This role performs structured copper cabling and wireless access point installation in support of a wireless network lifecycle replacement effort, including cable pulls, terminations, and testing under the direction of the crew lead.ResponsibilitiesInstall, terminate, label, and test Category 6 copper cabling in support of wireless access point installationPerform cable pulls through pathways, telecommunications rooms, and ceiling spaces in accordance with approved plansTest and troubleshoot copper cabling to ANSI/TIA-568 standards using industry-standard test equipmentInstall and mount access points and verify connectivity between the copper cabling and each access pointRemove legacy access points, cabling, and mounting hardware, and support site restoration including fire-stop and ceiling-tile replacementSupport inventory and accountability of new and removed componentsMaintain accurate labeling and support updates to cabling documentationFollow quality control, safety practices, and applicable codes and standardsRequired QualificationsS. citizenshipActive Top Secret security clearanceBICSI Installer 2, Copper (INSTC) certification2 to 3 years of structured copper cabling experienceProficiency in Category 6 cable pulling, termination, and testing to ANSI/TIA-568 standardsAbility to read cabling plans and follow installation drawingsAbility to perform physical installation work, including working on ladders and lifts and lifting up to 50 poundsDesired QualificationsPrior experience working within the Pentagon and familiarity with its telecommunications infrastructureExperience installing within SCIF or other classified spaces, including familiarity with TEMPEST, ICD 705, and Red/Black separation requirementsAdditional BICSI credentialsOSHA 10 or 30, lift, or fall-protection certificationsExperience with cable certification test equipment (e.g., Fluke DSX)The anticipated annual salary range for this position is $105,030 – $115,020. This range is a good-faith estimate and not a guarantee of compensation.
